Meme of Ten

Lucy at Lulus Petals tagged me with a meme! Here it is!
I'm tagging Janet, Kai, Tammy, Tammy. Mary Only if you want of course!

Ten Signs A book is written by me!

It looks like it’s been run over by a Mac truck

Pages are crumpled up with coffee stains

It’s fallen in the bath at least two times

It’s been edited one hundred times, but is still too wordy!

It’s the brightest colored book on the shelf

There are boogies and farts mentioned throughout, at least ten times

Best read to an Alzheimer patient

The characters will be named after condiments or spices

There will be no moral to the story

It will have too many metaphors, and a million clichés

It will have a least one moron in it, and one illustrating it, ME!

Now that I have pulled your leg...Here are the real 10 signs that I wrote the book!

I've learned my lesson about putting thing out there, even in jest!

The Real Ten Signs A book was Written by Me!!!

It’s illustrated by me

In rhyming format

It’s for children

It’s riddled with play on words

And metaphors

The characters have unique names

There’s a distinctive moral to the story

It’s humorous

Silly

The publishing house will LOVE IT!

Writers Island " Untamed Soul"

After various snow warnings we finally got dumped on! Oh how I love the fluffy wonder of Snow! The cleanliness, the magic, the brightness!

Bryan snapped a photo of this jogger in spandex and labeled it "Perseverance " I thought it to be quite appropriate for todays post!

Writers Island Prompt for this week is "desire", which I already covered in the previous post, so I decided to write a poem about the persistence of desire!

Persistence

Desire leashes the untamed soul

Luring it to unfettered places

Wagering absolution

For the covert hedonist

Raunchily consumed by irrationality

Each moment of wanton

Flaming a larger craving

Until the cavernous charge

Seizes absolute control

Demanding execution

Torturing the impassioned

Cruelly tormenting

With baited envy

Compelling pleasure

To sully its stasis

Sunday Scribblings " Chipped Mug"

Yesterday I found these beautiful flowers at my door with a note that said " The Pixies are about..." Thank you Laura, I love them and they are the most fragrant carnations I've ever had!

Indulge me in my silliness! If you've ever had a favorite mug then you'll understand this post. Otherwise it will seem superficial and trivial! There's something about that special mug you fall in love with. It's with you everyday, the familiarity is comforting, it may get a bit worn, but you still love it! Sort of like the ideal partner! I promise I don't have Alzheimer's, this is not a repeat post. Albeit very similar these are not the same mugs that I received last week. This post is about manifesting your desires and moving in the direction of having your dreams come true. This mug was just one of the many desires I held dear for three years. It got to the point I considered writing to the Artist to ask if she could create and ship me a new mug to replace the old chipped one! I notice she doesn't even have them on her website anymore! I remember the price was outrageous too! I have no idea why I kept the damaged cup under my sink so long. I just couldn't seem to part with it! I even considered using it in a mosaic to preserve the pattern!

"Thank you for abundance," is a frequent saying I use, every time something wonderful comes my way! A special Thank you to my daughter, whose continued persistence paid off! I think I can now release the chipped cup to mug heaven! Or where ever the dead mugs go!

Sunday Scribblings "Miscellaneous"

Chipped Mug

Cherished is my useless mug

Now kept beneath the sink

Chipped along the outer rim

Unsafe from which to drink

To me the pattern’s sacred

For none I’ve loved so much

Aesthetic in its vibrancy

My soul it seemed to touch

For every sip of coffee

And every taste of tea

Truly brought a sense of joy

To that simple side of me

Unexpected sadness formed

When I knew it was destroyed

I searched for a replacement

But none could fill the void

Soon that secret yearning

Become a failed quest

Just when I relinquished hope

And set my grief to rest

My daughter on a mission

With passion of devotion

Honed in on my desire

With her magnetic potion

Far from home, without a car

Heavy and labored down

Trekked alone on the bus,

Some treasures that she found!

Mugs, a bowl a teapot too

By an artist I revere

Astonished by the bounty

That managed to appear

Now I feel like Alice

In a land of adoration

Where whimsy reins bits of joy

As I celebrate my elation!

Sunday Scribblings "Boob Tube"

I picked up a plain mirror still in the packaging at a garage sale. I gessoed it, then painted with acrylics. It still needs a coat of varnish. I don't usually paint this color combination! Sometimes I wonder what subliminally influences me!

The last few days I've been under the weather, my sleep is totally discombobulated, thanks to horrible moans (hormones). Not been traveling to my computer much these days either. Hmmm I wonder if there is fire in the ire of them there horrible moans? (Said with a Beverly Hillbillies accent) So here is my poem for the " Sunday Scribblings"

Totally optional Prompt " Magician"

Sunday morning out of the blue Pepper decided to go out. On her excursion she announced, to my surprise, that she'd be stopping in at Home Sense to see if they had any Mary Naylor mugs. It was totally out of the blue. I am still shaking my head in amazement that she found the only four they had. Bryan bought them for me as an early Valentines day gift! Or course I adore them, and wonder what made Pepper decide at that moment to look for them. These kinds of things happen to her often when she lives in the flow!

I think it's so magical how the universe provides if you truly believe. I even think there are times when things go awry just to present another path, or open our eyes and heart to new prospects. Turning obstacles into opportunities. Teaching us value in the human spirit!

Since the first of January so much has come my way. I have been blessed with more abundance than I could have imagined. I've been brought eggs and milk, two random beautiful bouquets of flowers that piggy backed each other so I still have flowers to enjoy seventeen days later. My favorite chocolate, three large packages of my favorite bath fragrances, a new pair of black fuzzy slippers, a new purse large enough to carry some art, two ART bowls, and these Mary Naylor Mugs. I feel so grateful!

Here's the thing. My car is still out of commission. One might think I need that fixed over and above everything else. But you know what, it will be fixed in due time. For now my soul is being fed. Maybe I needed that more! Not because of the material items, but more because of the attentive love.Just the fact that friends and family know who I am, what I need and desire without my mentioning it! Everything will be used and enjoyed daily! As I sip from my new mugs I certainly feel loving energy flowing from them. With that I'm inspired and assured that the universe will provide!

The Magician

Out of the abyss

Kisses of abundance

Perplex me

Notion beckons

Comrade summons

A progeny heeds

Desires met

Catapulting

Effervescent faith

Aggravation

Now speaks

Wisdom

Pearls discovered

In crevices of

Astute attention

More Treasures

Gifted

By the Magician

I wanted to share with you these two licensed Mary Naylor art bowls that were bought three years apart! Interesting how they changed over the few years. The one on your left was the original, which I notice to be slightly more free hand. The newer one seems more precise, with more vivid colors, yet it's from the same line.....my favorite I might add! I found it inspiring to see that even professional artists produce work with imperfections. Or I wonder, is it doctored during production? I love them both!

Avril look alike???

Sorry, I know this is a very superficial post, but I had to record it for future!
Peppers situation on the sky train yesterday inspired this montage of photos. Yet another incident that made me laugh out loud. Similarly bazaar to the time a few years ago when she was told she looked like Avril Lavigne, then asked if she could sing. When she informed the young couple she couldn't carry a tune if she had a bucket, they were still taken by her similarity to Avril and invited her to be on Indian Idol, a Bollywood production! Insisting she could even lip sync if she preferred.

Avril Pepper Pepper

Pepper

When Pepper was in Regina this November she had a group of girls follow her up an escalator to the washroom. That made her slightly nervous. She also heard another group whispering about her as she ate lunch alone in a restaurant! Again referencing Avril.

Avril

Avril Pepper

Bryan and Pepper took a trek on the sky train yesterday. During their trip a frumpy middle aged ethnic lady smacked a group of random young woman, alerting them in a gesture of excitement , as she exclaimed, while pointing at Pepper," Look, it's Avril, you know Avril Lavigne" The girls didn't say a word but quickly exited the train! Apparently uneasy having been smacked by an oddly dressed woman!

Avril Pepper

Doesn't matter what province Peppers in she gets reminded a few times a day that she looks like Avril. As much she admires Avril as an artist, she's never tried to emulate her look. In fact Pepper had blond tresses long before Avril dyed hers.My daughter prefers to be a trend setter, with individuality. She ousted her colored hair extensions shortly after Avril started wearing them. Flattered to have the recognition of looking similar to a celebrity, she still prefers to be uniquely herself!

What do you think, similar or not????
Don't be shy you can disagree!

Please pardon my use of these Avril photos which I've taken off the net. They had no accreditation attachments to them. Assuming they are professionally done please take note that I am using them specifically for the sole purpose of personal comparison, not for monetary gain.

Sunday Scribblings "Date"

Locked Up

Years have waned since I’ve had a date

Now I fear, it’s become too late

I’ve fixed myself on a simple life

With renegade thoughts of being a wife

I favor the remote placed in my hand

I prefer to do what I have planned

I enjoy my solace with peace of mind

I stay clear of folks, the menacing kind

I have friends galore, a goddess group too

I’m never bored or without things to do

I’ll admit I’m slower, not always well

I harbor my heart in a protective shell

I’m no longer willing to heed demands

Of an obstinate lover who barks commands

It’s not lonely or lavish to be on my own

No one to dictate, no one to condone

There’s joy, quiet, contentment abound

But I confess, I like a handyman around

It’s not contempt that you hear in my poem

I just desire being single with the kids in my home

But if a man were to giggle in sync with my voice

I just may weaken, reconsider my choice

When I observe many couples it's really quite rare

To see the bliss that I feel within that pair

Seriously though, it's not up for debate

I'm simply not interested in finding a mate

Beyond Repair

Beyond Repair

I hear quiet truths

Behind complaints.

Sorrow behind voices

Agonizing choices.

I hear imminent reprisal

Stoked by humiliation,

Fostered by insinuation.

I hear silent tears

Burning within.

Mustering angst

Fury, contempt,

Trapping compassion

In folds of indignation.

I hear laughter

Staving off scorn.

I hear fear

Buried in judgment

Competition, castigation.

I hear no resolution

Restitution or absolution.

I hear happiness

frittering on the fringes,

Cleaving to hope,

Waiting for peace.
