Glitterati Art pages and a meme
I’ve amalgamated the art pages I made at Glitterati, with a finish the sentence Meme
just to make things a little more fun!
1. I've come to realize that my last kiss.....was kinda yucky! Creepy old dude!
2. I am listening to........to my inner voice yelling eww gross why did you let him kiss you!!! Ewwwwww…… then the melodic David Ford saves the day!
4. I love........many things …I’m not gonna lie…Lot's of things…my interests are so eclectic and diverse, that's why I am so easily distracted!
This page was about four layers plus gesso
6. My first real kiss...... was in a shed, with my step cousin! (Not a blood relative people!)I was maybe ten!
The next four pages are paper towel dipped in
thinned acrylic, split in two, then podged onto card stock.
8. Marriage is......DONE for me!!! Do I sound adamant enough?
Hope so!!!
11. The last time I really cried was because...... I watched the movie “Poor Boys game with Danny Glover”…. It touched me!
This paisley print is my design, I'm very excited about how
nicely it printed out! I think it would make excellent scrap booking paper!
I used it in my booklet.
This page has a paper doily, tissue, paint, and gesso all modged on pink card stock, layer after layer. See the rip of pink peeking through the centre. Violette liked that rip. I have to release my need for perfection, there is no use for it in certain art processes!
12. My cell phone..... is my mini insurance policy…for quick calls only! I only pay ten bucks a month, and tax! Not many can beat those numbers…I seriously can't understand why people have three hundred dollar cell phone bills!! Insane!
13. When I wake up in the morning...... My body tells me instantly how well I can function for the day. I also play scrabble if I can get a game! Sometimes even before coffee!
14. Before I go to bed......I watch television. It’s my lover…..Either George Strombo, or Larry King...both stimulate my mind....gotta luv em!! However there are many many nights I pass out exhausted with the television blaring and way before either of these men come on!
15. Right now I am thinking about.......what colors I to make the living room. It's a huge internal fight I tell you! I love all colors.... but I am very individual so you can be assured it won't be anything usual or will it!!!.... Oh and I have two other adults I confer with....so who knows where this will end up!! Either way the fuchsia will be sadly gone!
16. Babies are.....so vulnerable, poopy, and sweet, therefore need to be raised by good people!! No body likes messy diapers.....
17. I get on Myspace....... to skulk good bands, but right all I am thinkin about is my own space, and how to update it on a budget!
18. Today I........ was collecting inspiration from designs I found on google image
19. Tomorrow I will be...trying to clean the house, now that it took me all week to recover from glitterati.
20. I really want to be many things....you guess!!!

Carry on Tuesday" You would have understood me"
I often think back to my past loves. Afraid of vulnerability and rejection I used humor to lure males in. Often rejecting them as though I had no interest. When in fact I did enjoy the attention. Now that I'm older with nothing to lose I'm more myself. I'm less dominant, less jovial, less interested in relationship.
Back then, when it really mattered, I wish I'd been more vulnerable, open, less sarcastic and witty. Back then I could clear a coffee room with my contemptible humor. All the weaker males bolted wondering who'd be my next victim. It was quite shocking when one guy revealed that he loved my humor, just didn't want to be at the brunt of it, so he ran!
I am truly sorry I was like that. I really wish I'd been more sensitive way back when! Not to make excuses, because there are none for that behavior, I will say I lived in defense mode back in the day! My circumstances warranted it! My humor is somewhat staid and I do like myself better now!
The prompt this week on carry on tuesday is the opening words of You Would Have Understood Me by Ernest Dowson. 1867–1900
You would have understood me
You would have understood me
Had I not tried so hard
Let my spirit show
Instead
I hid within
Ashamed of
My true thoughts
You would have understood me
Had I naturally embraced you
Revealed my heart
Instead
I kibitzed
Afraid
Of rejection
You would have understood me
Had I let you in
Exposed myself
Been vulnerable
Instead I lied
To you
And me
had you waited

Visions of Glitter still in my Head Sunday Scribblings
Glitter in my hair
Glitter on my face
Glitter everywhere
So for Sunday Scribblings I leave with you visions
of the last two days filled with creative joy!
Mama with offspring hunts for cherries!
After a commotion of crows cawing,
they adhere to the sign pointing out,
neatly soldering our creative charms
(Thank you so much Nicci for providing all the necklace supplies)
Decadent desserts woo our palate!
(Thanks Nicci for these creative delights too!)
Each scrumptious bite garnered shrills of goose bumps
chasing each other up my arm
(Thanks Cheryl for providing this pretty treat)
a new day of glittering begins
Grateful beyond words, we love our bohemian glitter Queen
She presented a life altering couple of days at the Magic Cottage!
and had to bow out of the group dinner.
Sorry I missed it, hope you had more fun glitter sisters!
Cascadia Soaps
Trust me I have sniffed many a homemade soap, NONE compares to this brand! I purchased my first batch at Granville Island market a few weeks ago, one week later I was disappointed I hadn't bought more!
There's a really generous variety of scents to choose from too! I can't wait to try a few of the more elaborate ones! This business has been around for quite some time! So why hadn't I heard of it? If you're interested in purchasing some of these soaps, I am assured they have been in business for years and ship all over. Check out their site. I have a really discriminating nose, you won't be dissapointed.....

What goes around comes around!
The other day I took my daughter to H&M a trendy store for young people. Certainly not conducive to large sized moms peering on! ”Only one to a room.” the sales clerk warned. I stood outside the door across from another mom. After considerable time and heat swollen feet Pepper asked if I wanted a seat as she dragged a bench big enough for two out of the room! I promptly sat down, offered the other mom a seat. She declined as she waited outside the door to support her daughter’s choices.
In the meantime another young woman came out of a fitting room appearing very dejected in her mini skirt, awaiting her blackberry enthralled boyfriends approval. She was so slumped over and insecure…it was sad. The other mom looked over at me with a knowing wise smile as the young man barely looked up. Although I had sunglasses on, we were speaking with universal mother’s body language. Grateful we both have confident daughters secure enough to have their attentive mothers in attendance!
Pepper bought another black dress, (like mom she has many), and a fuchsia one that I picked out, plus a really cute mid length black A-line coat. I was surprised to see how many styles and prints mirrored the sixties and seventies….

Sunday Scribbling Absurd
This is the three of us on Saturday night in an absurd state of coincidence wearing the same colors! Or was it? Pardon the boobige!! Only dress I could find that looked half decent, so to speak! As you can see I am in the thick of it!!
It was my friend Violette's fifty fifth birthday today, her friend Susan threw her a bash on Saturday evening! As you can see being married to herself didn't stop her from scooping up this gem as her side kick! I have so many photos of him hamming it up for the camera! Doesn't matter how old you are, being goofy, playing like children do, and having an open mind keeps you young in spirit!Happy Birthday Violette! Susan and Rob are dear people to put together such a nice gathering Saturday night! It was so much fun, loads of laughter, joy and great food!
A creative gift Violette received. A troll peeking out of the pocket is a signature mascot she adores! Violette affirms that you are NEVER too old to have fun!!! So go forth and be absurd!! The more people you can make laugh the happier you'll be!
