Thanks to all the wonderful artists at Paint Party Friday who gave me input about their computers!! I'm looking for deals and will let you know when a purchase is made! I'm also joining art therapists Weekend reflection this week!!

Do you think some people are just born happier than others? I'm not too sure about that, but I know I wasn't a happy child.  There was just too much discipline for no good reason! Oh there were many happy times but I felt sad A LOT...

I'm grateful that my daughter boasts about her amazing childhood, of course it helps when you have a full sized  Sesame street playhouse in the dining room instead of a dining table. It helps that your mom is a squirrel who takes you all over the city on a search of your favorite blue Slurpees, or takes you for a walk at bedtime  on the first snow fall!!!

Who wouldn't be happy about  their childhood, with a goofy mother who dives to the bottom of a huge bin of shoes to find a lime green shoe to match your outfit, or shows up at the school with her face and hair sprayed gold wearing a cardboard gold sun around her neck, unrecognizable, draped in gold fabric  dancing on request in front of the whole school! Okay that might not have been her favorite moment! But she sure loved trick or treating with me wearing that crazy costume, and I never told any of the kids at the school who I was, while dressed like a Sunshine!!

Those were very superficial reasons to like your childhood, but we did so much together, from playing cards and games, to filling the car with kids to run around in the park. We were always doing something fun whether is was hitting up a rink to skate, or a pool to swim!! Life was full of excitement!

At ten she was the victim in our ugly divorce. Things were never the same for her. I tried to protect her, but with all that transpired it was near impossible. Nothing is ever perfect. Maybe  it was better she learned that early.  Life is like a roller coaster with ups and downs. Thankfully this is a happier time  for both of us! 

Finding bliss in creativity, having a great relationship with the kids makes me happy!! Plus I really do choose to be happy despite many days struggling with aches and pains.

However there are times when I ire, albeit very rare, it manifests in my being very withdrawn. I'm either so mad, or so hurt I can't speak.   Mostly I feel hurt.  When I go there, my mind is all over the map. Thankfully I can reason it out to a quiet resolve. However I have been known to be bought off with pineapple and strawberries dipped in chocolate, and a brand new pack of fine point colored sharpies! Yep, feed me, and throw some art supplies in my cage and I'm good to go!!!

 How do you work through your angry hurtful feelings?

Life is never perfect but there are all kinds of awesome things that bring joy!!! Those who truly love us know when our heart breaks and usually know how to fix it, or at least quiet the angry thoughts. Even if they have the last word that makes you laugh your head off!! You know who you are cupcake!!

Seriously though I was never one to be too stern. When Cupcake was a kid I set the rules," MY HOUSE, MY RULES" to the kids who didn't have good manners. For the most part I was pretty soft. I believed in correcting bad behavior rather than corporal punishment. Every time I tried being stern my daughter laughed at me... it just didn't fit. I was way too fun to be angry.

I have a friend much like me she rarely angers. In the first fifteen years I'd known her  I had never seen her mad.  One day she snapped and was talking fast  and stern, telling people to basically poop or get off the pot... I just howled. I think it was a PMS moment for her.... then I understood why my kid would always laugh at me. Anger just didn't suit my friend. It looked funny on her!! I still giggle and tease her about it!!

My little Acer Aspire laptop conked out on me I need to purchase somethings new....what is your favorite? I'm thinking of getting the new Samsung Galaxy android tablet coming out in five days, I have wanted an Ipad for ages now, but I love windows and I'm afraid it may be too hard to navigate. I've already heard a friend having difficulty uploading her photos.. Any suggestions... The Ipad has the allure of the digital drawing which I love!! All input is deeply appreciated while I make this tough  decision!!

Even though the name is Sid I keep feeling Sid is short for a female Sidney!

 I tried to get a jump on Paint Party Friday this week, didn't happen!!  Thank you everyone for your wonderful comments last week on gossip! I appreciate you sharing your perspectives, it always gives me great  insight!!  I wish all comments had an email address attached like they used to,  so I could thank you all personally!  Unfortunately some don't! If you haven't heard from me that would be why!!

Last weekend I was out with the Crazy Coupon lady Cupcake. We slipped out before Beardo awoke! Stopped to grab a few things at one store, I won't mention what or how many because anything over four makes me feel  hoarderish!! The consolation is that we give A LOT away!!! Yes the coupon lady is hugely generous!!  This is the time of year we run around like maniacs collecting goodies to donate boxes of sundries to the local woman's shelter for Christmas!!

A few weeks ago Beardos boss pulled him aside to sing Cupcakes praises after an evening of dinner and drinks with his wife!!  He asked Beardo not to take this wrong but  mentioned that Cupcake can come  off as a bit of a dumb blonde at times then all of a sudden seems brilliant!!  To which  Beardo nonchalantly quipped, " Oh yeah she plays that dumb blonde thing  up to her advantage.

The Nosies

 When it comes to couponing Cupcake IS Brilliant!! She can make a couple of hundred bucks in a half hour by buying products with points!! Many cashiers are so excited to see her do it!! While the majority of folks pass by the deals oblivious to what's happening!! However with that Brilliance comes a few quirks!! Not gunna lie...very odd stuff!! Sort of like Sheldon in Big Bang Theory.

While returning her shopping cart to retrieve her loonie/dollar  a lady stopped her  offering her a loonie in exchange for the cart. Cupcake hesitated, saying " but my loonie is shiny." The Lady completely dumbfounded (as I would be) said with great disdain, " R-E-A-L-L-Y!!!" and walked off in a huff!! So  Cupcake retreats to the car in a bit of a huff herself!! Tells me the story, and my eyes pop right outta my head....oh yes they do.... they pop out and start swinging off my eyelids!! While my head is cranked opposite to her as I  back out of my parking spot!

With as much diplomacy as I could muster for the situation, and with respect for a girl who had just saved the household fifty bucks in ten minutes!! I explain how I would probably have a look like this, (face scrunched up insert Googly eyes,) if anyone  said they wanted to keep their shiny Loonie... we both howled with laughter. As she explained in defense how she keeps three shiny new loonies  in a special compartment of her purse especially for shopping carts!!  Totally shocked to learn these new idiosyncrasies about my daughter I blurt out, " Wow that is so OCD!" Being so far removed from this kind of behavior I was totally perplexed!! I guess an extra chromosome went wonky somewhere along the way!! She definitely takes after my mom and brother more than me!! I couldn't believe I didn't know that about her....I guess you learn something new everyday!!

It took me ten years to figure out she was washing her hands way too much, if that's even possible. Somehow she conned me into always turning off the taps in a public washrooms! And opening the doors too!! I'm on to her now though. Sadly some of her hand washing obsession has worn off on me!! Or maybe she just has me trained, like a dog!!! Last weekend we laughed so hard we were in tears, lets just say shopping with the  Shiny, Loonie Coupon Lady was Crazy fun!!!
