10 years Blogging

  Paint Party Friday

Yesterday March 30th 2016 was my Ten Year Anniversary
blogging. My computers acting up so I've decided to just do a
quick  review of my favourite pieces of art created over the last
decade! It's been quite an evolution for a woman who
has loved colour all her life. Yet  never quite understood
why until her fifth decade! I'm so glad to have discovered
this mystery and hope to discover more in the coming
years! Thank you for all those who have supported
me over the last decade! I appreciate all of
your love, kind words and friendships!
"Burst of Joy" a large painting hung in my foyer, below my computer desk!
Ten years ago I started a blog
to make a habit of writing
Twenty one days should do the trick
Each day I blogged was exciting
My favorite travel mug created from my original "burst of joy" painting
I viewed the world differently now
searching for interesting bits
Photos to take and pictures to paint
I was on a big writing blitz
A painting for my bestie of her deceased dog Xen
Daily I wrote to preserve the thoughts
one day my daughter may read
a legacy to build upon
a solace my child may need
"Mountains of Courage" Created for "Bras for a Cause" charity
Blogging fed  a painful void
Soon the  habit took hold
I shared stories past and present
Some things I'd never told
I created quirky characters
played digitally, with colour too
as I wrote I began to heal
while my passion for blogging grew
" On the Bus" My favourite digital piece used as a screen saver on my laptop!

Daily I posted with so much joy
fun things I wanted  to share
I was feeding my creativity
and a heart in need of repair
"A Covenant of Colour" Auctioned for Children's Hospital music program
Comments  trickled in slowly
So grateful but not really phased
I created for several years
without the need to be praised
" Mountains of Courage in Bloom" created for charity in the name of  another breast cancer survivor and dear friend Helen
Then my writing began to wane
as my artistic side took hold
I spent more time  painting
letting this genre unfold
My funky chairs that I love! Individually created for Cupcake, Beardo and I... plus a friend!
I did a few challenges weekly
painting  pages in between
slowly my blog evolved
in ways I'd never seen
"Burst of Joy"  Tiny Piano Auctioned for Children's Hospital music program
My images matched with my words
 which was done quite unexpected
posts I created asked questions
to my reader I became quite connected

A grandfather won the bid and bought it for his grandchild, who  still loves it!
Grateful to those who comment
Mindfully inspired to create more
forming lovely friendship
so many creatives that I adore!
Click to enlarge some of my digital favourites Gabbies Gals
A heartfelt thanks to those who stop by
leaving comments so kind and smart
I appreciate each and everyone of you
I'd like to thank you with all  of my heart!
Favorite Halloween digital
Cheers to a brand new decade
with no idea what it will bring
whatever  quirky things I create
I'm hope it musters new zing!!
As of today this table has been sanded down once again ready for some new artwork!
What is the one thing you are most proud of
that you have done, or created in the last
decade?
Here's to new beginnings!!

Thanks for the walk down memory lane, sherrie. I loved seeing the guitar again. I think that's when I first found your delightful blog. And the chairs... I remember that one too. Congrats on 10 years of sticking to it. Your blog is a weekly adventure for me.

Congrats on the 10 Sherrie. You and I are the same and you know something?, I remember all your work from previous post here and there. Just great. I remember when you painted the chairs and I said I wanted to do that too. You said to go for it. Well I didn't :((
I did paint some but just bright purple, red, etc. Always fun to read you and see your work here and at IG.

10 years - that's wonderful. I admire the way you give so much in your blogging posts, both in your very considered and well thought-out writing and in your so-colourful and very original paintings.
I can see many favourites here, "On the Bus" and the Halloween painting and Gabbie's Gals stand out for me, but I could easily choose any of the others for their individuality.
Here's to the next ten years for all of us here.

Congratulations on the 10 years ! Love seeing all of the fabulous photos of your brilliant art from over the years. Those chairs and the table are so fantastic and I would love to do that. The Hubs would go into cardiac arrest if I put them in the house LOL! Which I 'll have to keep in mind if he ever misbehaves :) I do have a table in the basement I can paint up if we ever get some heat down there. It's a seasonal use place .
