What do you mean you gotta go "BOO?"
Why didn't you do it before you left the house?
About
twelve years ago and long before I discovered my artist within I played a pivotal role in a haunted house. A woman
having her throat slit several hundred times a night, as onlookers
sauntered through. It was a school fundraiser. One of the parents loaned
his home for the event, preparation took months.
Production included many volunteers to decorate, act and man the crowd during the Halloween season. It was a blast!
Interviewed
for a Vancouver news cast, I was asked how it felt to scream so many
times in repetition, I told them it was extremely cathartic to scream
all evening after such an ugly divorce!
Richard, who loaned his
home, is known for throwing manic parties of epic proportions. I've missed several of his New Years and Halloween Parties featuring live bands in the last decade but it's not likely you'd ever
forget any of his themed soirees. That Halloween turned out
particularly exciting. Too bad the Slasher was married… to a woman with
my same name!
True Fantasy
Jostled, and giggled,
during each scene.
A grope transpired,
a tickle, a scream.
Some of it acting,
much was not.
Crowd In progression,
mischief he sought.
He killed in succession,
within seconds she’d revive.
Arousal emerged,
she'd never been more alive
during each scene.
A grope transpired,
a tickle, a scream.
Some of it acting,
much was not.
Crowd In progression,
mischief he sought.
He killed in succession,
within seconds she’d revive.
Arousal emerged,
she'd never been more alive

The artwork here was done five years ago but I thought it might be fun to share it with my new readers!!
Funny how much it reminds me of my niece and nephew!

My heart is in such a pensive state as I pray for those caught in the devastation of the horrible storm in the east! I've always been grateful for the everyday comforts of my home, somehow I feel even more grateful. If that's possible! Do you ever wonder what you'd take with you if you knew you'd never see your house again?
I hope you'll be as inspired as I am by all the artists at Paint Party Friday that I feel so blessed to have found!!

OMG your throat must have been sore! I love that picture of your daughter 24 yrs ago. Trying to be scary but looking oh so cute ☺
Love your paintings and photos. Hope you're doing well.
The photo of your daughter is so precious, hope you had a great night!
Thanks for the interesting - and as always so funny - memories of Hallowe'ens past. And such lovely pictures. What would I take? Probably the family photos - pile the boxes into a couple of pillowslips and throw them into the garden (always assuming it's fire and not flood!)
You daughter was sooo cute! (She probably still is too!) And I LOVE your curly hair.
Love scrolling through your blog...fun Halloween stories and art.
Young daughter shot wins my prize!
Yes, the devastation makes us lucky ones not yet affected by such a tragedy feel grateful ... Will it make me become more earthquake prepared? That is the question! What would I take? Life. I'd be grateful to get out alive, family alive including our cat. Of healthy limb to be able to help my neighbors.
Everything else can be either replaced or done without. Hey, everything in life is tempory.
I love your colorful art and so enjoyed meeting you!! Thanks for coming by my blog!

A fun post. Really enjoyed the pics. Happy weekend, Ev
Awesome Halloween paintings and I love your photos. :)
What great Halloween memories. Wouldn't it have been funny if a romance had sprung from that haunted house job? Imagine telling people you met when he slit your throat.
Your halloween art is wonderful. I love the photos of halloweens past. Happy PPF
What great Halloween memories and pictures. I loved seeing your Halloween art and learning more about you.
Wonderful, thought-provoking post. Your work as usual is innovative and creative. I enjoyed the photos of your daughter. We had put our important papers out on the island in the kitchen along with flashlights and cellphones and my purse. I'm sure I would have grabbed other things if we had had to vacate. But what a thought! We hold onto so many mementos from our past. My heart cries too for those who lost everything and my heart sings that we escaped the worst brunt of the storm.
Love your photos and art. Always colorful and meaningful words in your posts. We all pray for those affected by the storm.
Sounds like a totally mad party!! Can I get an invite?!!
Love the photos of your family! :)
Happy Autumn!

Loving your Halloween painting and the photos!
your halloween art is lots of fun!
Not sure i could do the throat slitting act, but screaming over and over might be fun!
that was such an amazing post, it touched every emotion, beautiful art for us to see as well, I found myself wishing it was longer, I love how you write
omg memories! I love what you have done in your post. I find myself in so many states after it. first I was laughing, then feeling the (I have a 24, 27 and 14 year old) memories of my olders as they were small in their matching pirate costumes, then the Hurricane, which living in the middle of Canada (Ontario) we were saved from, but feeling the dread for others, as I was in Hurricane Ivan as Aruba was put under water and nearly everyone lost their homes...it is true how people band together and are just thankful. So I thought I would say "I don't know what to say" but obviously I did! I love your diversity in your post, how you too can move so quickly from here to there and share so much meaning and heart within your words for us to read. Thanks for that, and also for your support for my addictions/allergies to sugar, choc. etc and my struggle to stay off them, in my blog last week. It really was encouraging and is helping me, one day at a time! Kisses, Samara
Love the fun art, family photos and the wonderfun (new word!) writing
I would imagine your friend has people lined up around the block to get in! What fun!
That sounds like so much fun - but I bet after all that screaming you needed some lozenges! I find have a little scream now + then so releasing and I feel so much better. Love you halloween art + seeing your daughters photos. x
Beautiful family and wonderful artwork!
Hi I love your halloween paintings, very funny and beautiful. Also the pictures of your (little) children.
The fun is visible.

Hi friend!
THIS is one of my favorite of your posts yet! I LOVE your painting and love your story of your acting past ;) You look absolutely beautiful (for a girl who was dying all night ;) and I love what you said during your interview. BEAUTIFUL pictures of your baby too - thanks for sharing it all, xoxo!
Spectacular paintings and also the photo! I have not grown up with halloweens, so this is unusual to me..
Quite scary.. :)
Love your Halloween pics and your whimsical monsters (the art ones I mean) are delightful!!
oh how super sweet and fun!!! love to see all of you photos!!!
Lol at the story. Awesome family memories. Cute Halloween picture.
Except for the adorable pictures of your daughter when she was a youngster, this is one scary post!!! :)
I always get a laugh and then a serious thought from your blog posts. I love all the purple and the memories of parties past. You daughter in her first Halloween picture reminds me of how my 4 year old grandson looked when he came in from trick or treating...exhausted! So cute, then and now she(your daughter) is.
