Happy Canada Day to my Canadian Friends! |
After a lot of nagging and whining, (which normally never worked and resulted in a smack,) she conceded! Every time I tried to wear those fancy runners she'd say "don't wear your five dollar runners" eventually I outgrew them in their near new state! I have hated any kind of runners except Chuck Taylor converse runners ever since!!! Which I have never worn either!
Over the last five decades there is one comfortable shoe that I have probably worn the way people wear white runners, and that is the clog.... I loved clogs in the sixties and I still love them today! Only now I wear a replica type clog in the form of a merrell!
Thanks to those who shared your shoe stories and preferences last week!! Do you remember anything you over indulged your child in that has continued on over the years?
This is my contribution to Icad and Paint party Friday where you can find many more wonderful creatives!!

OooOohhh! My favorite shoe is the one with the "ego" quote, I love it!!
Great shoes and a pretty mug! I mailed you a couple of weeks back about Tag Tuesday blog. If you are still interested in joining, please contact me asap! Valerie
Loving the whole shoe festival thing you have going on at the moment! I had a pair of platform wedges just like that too, fell over in a similar fashion, how were we not seriously hurt by such dangerous footwear!? Traceys watercolour of your mug is delightful, she has such a soft and beautiful style of painting. :)
The last pair look like my Ugg boots that I am wearing trying is keep my tootsies warm! Love them all.
Love love love the shoes. The grass is always greener where you water- love that! Happy PPF to you.
fun shoes again! Would love a pair of ugg boots right now :-) HPPF! xo L.
Great shoe paintings - and great shoe stories! Thank you for sharing the good and the bad! <3 :)
Enjoyed reading your shoe stories as much as the cuppa with Tracey! Each shoe looks very unique! I love heels but I cannot handle them quite well so in order to avoid any 'fox paws' I stick to flats! ;-)
Loved travelling down your colorful shoe memory lane.
Wonderful art and post! Happy PPF
Your post brought up a lot of my shoe memories! Thank you for that and for all your wonderfully whimsical illustrations and apt quotes! Happy PPF!

funky shoe collection you are so good at these, and your stories are hilarious!
Sherrie, you are one fine shoe woman!!! I love your paintings of shoes. You are talented beyond measure. Your accounts of the shoe episodes had me laughing out loud, especially the grand pricks. Funny!!! I also love clogs and have several pairs. I don't feel very safe in them anymore at my age but one pair is relatively low heeled and safe. Thanks for not scolding me about my fox paws in accidentally using the URL that was on my clipboard (at 2 a.m. I am not the sharpest tack in the box). Loved your post today. Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for the visit to my blog today.
I laughed out LOUD at the fox paws!
I'm curious what you are going to do with all these beautiful, funny, great ... shoes and quotes!
Happy PPF
hugs from Ilona
Sorry I missed last week, will have to check it out. I love the idea of tie died sneaks as I would call them, Cupcake was a lucky kid to have such a wabi sabi Mom like yourself. When my boy was little we would go for walks he in the backpack and one shoe always came off somewhere in the neighborhood and we would have to retrace and find it.....I am a clog person too.......still laughing about your mismatched flip flops....Happy PPF xox
I have been away. I can truly say I have missed your posts. Wonderful way for expressions through shoes.

A girl can never have too many shoes! Fun post. HPPF!
I love the way you've been weaving your life stories and gorgeous shoe artwork. Although they have very different personalities, I have 2 daddy's girls, so I've most certainly have indulged them. However, I've also had high expectations of them, so they're not spoiled. I LOVE and am very proud of my girls too. Blessings!
Love the mug Tracey painted! And your shoes -oh my!!! Must've taken you some time to paint all these and then add the words and I appreciate it so much!!! I have always been such a girly girl and have always loved trendy clothes and shoes and sneakers. I got what my parents could afford and they weren't expensive things but I got to choose and loved them. I'm really partial to your pink ballet slippers. I guess I over indulged my son with homemade- always from scratch foods and decorated cakes for special occasions. He's 25 and still comes by for a home cooked meal once a week and I usually ask him what he'd like me to make :)Thanks for another fun and refreshing week!
Absolutely wonderful!!
Love Traceys work. She's awesome. Your shoes are FAB! I love Converse and I still have mine with little holes on the side and still wear them:) Nice work as always. Happy PPF!
Great shoe series! Your colors are bright and wonderful.
so many shoes!!! I love shoes :)

your mug is pretty and so are the shoes! Love your fun stories too!
I love this series. I like shoes but they don't like me. They never have so I am a clog person. This summer I actually found two pairs if sandals that fit and were really pretty. Unfortunately, my back doesn't like them as much as my feet do. But, I'll keep on trying. Some day I will find some that are both comfortable and pretty. Have a great week.
Ah Sherrie all your great stories and art are always such fun! The only things I really indulge my kids with are stories and books, my oldest writes his own stories now!
Really love all the quotes you use in your artwork :-)
Your posts are full of smiles - love the shoes! My feet are not really happy unless they are flat but with support!
Hahaha, love this fun walk down memory lane with you! I am with you on the clog - I have a pair of Birkenstock clogs that I have literally worn to pieces and refuse to retire. Ever.:-)
sometimes i wonder how you remember all those good stories of yours. i am forgetting mine already. lol. enjoyed your tales and oh so pretty shoes with quotes!
I am not surprised Tracy is your friend as you both have the same sense of humour always making me laugh about life which is so refreshing as many talented artists such as yourselves are too serious. Great shoe drawings happy ppf
Your art is absolutely delightful and your stories had me snorting with laughter. What fun!
Love reading all your shoe stories, and the quotes you have on there are wonderful.
Great post, stories, shoes and everything!! Love to read what you're up too, thinking about and remembering! Happy Paint Party Friday, I'm so late. ;) Thanks for sharing your work!!
Your artwork is super-cool! Even the header of your blog has these great color combination. It's wonderful!
I continue to be enthralled by your shoe stories. You have so many of them, and I love them all.
You are so talented! All of your shoes are fabulous and I love that you pair them with a quote that matches them!
Your shoe stories make fun cards even more entertaining...thanks for sharing!
Love the stories and the painted shoes. They went together so fabulously and I am in love with your work. I love the style. Reminds me a bit of the work of Maira Kalman that I am in love with.
late to checking out and catching up after a couple of days away from the computer... and thanks so much for the shout out... glad you liked it... and have to say those bottom boots look a bit like these ugg boots that my sister used to have ... they were that exact colour!!!
I love all of your shoes so much! Very creative and beautiful, and so much fun, too!
I was laughing so much reading your post this week!! I loved your stories - Mr Mac + I giggled so much about the 'grand pricks'! I am like your cupcake obsessed with my chucks! (And of course my three girls all have their chucks too!!)
Love the paintings this week!!
I just can't imagine that one could come up with so many types of shoes :D It's all so lovely! And yes, Tracey's art is lovely!
I was under the impression that I am already your 'follow'er! :)

You have the cutest stories. I enjoyed my visit, as usual! I moved my RSS feeds to Feedly, after trying a few different ones. I don't think I tried Bloglovin, though.
Fantastic stories and great shoes! Oh dear, I feel for the bitten toes... I don't have any little ones to overindulge, but if I did, I'm sure clothing would be an issue (I love clothes and everything is cuter smaller...).
Great collection this time ;) of course my favorite is the converse: much comfort and lovely pattern ;) ♥ Conny
