Family Christmas. Surprise, surprise the mom looks tired! |
This cartoon family created on a big chunk of cardboard
is my contribution for this weeks Paint Party Friday
Cupcake and Beardo enjoyed a Christmas
adventure in Vancouver last weekend!
When you teach your children to find joy in the
simple things you give them a gift for a lifetime!
We live a thirty five minute drive from Vancouver.
The kids get a hotel after their annual Christmas dinner
so they can enjoy the allure of Christmas in the city the
next day! Lights of hope at St Pauls tops their list of must see

They trace my old childhood stomping grounds.

and the remaining flowers that
have survived the cooler temperatures!

Although it was pouring rain they still enjoyed
these lovely statues!

they are posted so I can
live vicariously through her. I love it!
The next day they festively dressed in red and green to attend the
Vancouver Santa Claus Parade! I can pretty much
guarantee they were wearing Christmas socks too!
Who knows maybe these fun photos will inspire you!
They certainly make me happy!
After the parade they managed to get a photo
on what is normally a very busy Vancouver
street!
Then they went skating in Robson Square!
They took this extremely short video that
thrilled me to bits since it's the first time
they have been skating since they met
What a joyful weekend they had!
Last Wednesday Cupcake packed up a couple of boxes
filled with specially chosen gifts and goodies,
did a grocery shop then delivered it to a struggling
single mom who wept when she received the offerings.
These two give graciously without expectation in honour
and gratitude of their own special life!
I wasn't going to tell this story except that when these two
attended that Santa Claus parade in torrential down pour
they had this cheesy photo taken along with many many
other people! Today, a week later we found out
that this photo won a gopro camera! The best part is
that I have recently been wishing and envisioning
buying one for the kids in hopes they could make some
fun videos! Funny how the universe rewards good
deeds so quickly! We feel really blessed.....all I can say

Love the family Christmas piece and with Mom so tired-HOW TRUE!!!! And I love Cupcake and Beardo's photos from Vancouver. Looks like they had a superb holiday outing! What a great way to enjoy the holiday!
I loved visiting Vancouver through Cupcake and Beardo's photos! Thank you so much for sharing them. It looks like a beautiful city and they look to have had a ball. I absolutely love how the universe works and it's wonderful that they won a gopro for their photo - definitely getting back all the good they put out there!
What a heartfelt sharing this week. I can feel the joy they had during their weekend in Vanacouver. Thank you for sharing the lovely version of Silent Night. xo

A great post and thanks for sharing your daughter's happy times in Vancouver, lots of fun and smiles here!
happy PPF. luv your entire share today
much love...
Your family painting is tremendous with little doggie trying to open a parcel and Dad looking sideways at him. It all looks so happy and festive.
Loved the tour round Vancouver, the rainy city at night photo is something special with the street glistening.
Second family painting is great too, what big teeth you have, red doggie. Love the way you use every colour in the paintbox, that's what they're for!
Happy rest of December, Giggles.
Love the little cartoon family! Looks like the kids had an absolute BLAST!!!
Dear Sherrie I am just overjoyed by this truly wondrous post!! A big thank you to Cupcake and Beardo for sharing that special holiday town with us all-it looks like so much fun. Love your beautifully vibrant painting too along with those touches of neon pink! Happy weekend!
This is truly a beautiful post.
Hello fellow Vancouver blogger.
Oh what fun! My cupcake, Chloe, was in the Santa parade. She was walking behind her mother-in-law's horses, handing out candy, wearing, if you can believe this, a red Christmas sweater her grandmother knitted for her when she was 13! I miss Vancouver when I'm in England, and, while I'd like to say that I don't miss the rain, it's almost exactly the same weather here in Oxfordshire! Sheesh. In my next life, I'm living in Arizona. :D
I am sure many Moms can identify with your "tired mom". Sweet story. I think Happy Holidays are already headed in your direction!
Loved seeing those photos of vancover. What a great break they had. The amount of pride and joy beardo and cupcake bring to you is so evident. They seem a very special couple
I think Cupcake and Beardo are such neat people!! What a wonderful post! And I love your art!!
big hug!!
And MIley's rendition of Silent Night pretty much had me in tears. Thanks for that, too.
Love the trees in your post, so much fun. The kids look like they had a great time. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

I really enjoyed every bit of this post, great art, great kids, congrats to them on the GoPro. Miley is so talented what a voice! Merry Christmas!
I love seeing all your photos with the "kids". I know you are proud! It looks like a wonderful celebration for them and even you and "us"! I love your whimsical painting, too. I chuckled at the dog opening the package, well, untying the ribbon. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays!
Your artwork is so bright and beautiful...just like you.
Wow! What a GREAT post. Thank you for sharing a peek into your world. The art was so fun and colorful, the pictures of the lights were beautiful, the statues were interesting, Blonde and Beardo (hope I spelled that right) were smiling throughout it all and the help your family gave to a struggling single mom was so special. When my kids were young and I had just gone through my divorce, someone sponsored us and it made Christmas that more special. Now my grown oldest son sponsors a family every year. My boys have never forgotten that blessing. I wanted to share that so you could tell your kids what a difference they have made. Still blog hopping from PPF! Hope you are having a great weekend. Hugs, Rasz
I have never visited Vancouver so this post was a wonderful way to see it. You're photos and story are touching, great holiday cheer! Even though I am a little late I am glad I made it by.
I love your tribute to the holidays through your beautiful artwork. I also enjoyed living vicariously, just as you did, through Cupcake and Beardo's fun filled photographs and video. Blessings, my friend!
I always love reading of Cupcake & Beardo's adventures. Loved this one especially ♥ Your art is fantastic this week too. I think I am finally getting into the Holidays Spirit and may actually drag out some decorations today :)
WOW! Your artwork is gorgeous! Enjoy your week!
Hi Giggles! Thank you for the sweet comment you left at my blog. Your posts and comments always bring a smile to my face :-)
What fun Christmas family art! It looks like quite the adventure... I'll think about your suggestion, thank you!
Thank you also for visiting so many of my finished pieces as well, much appreciated!
Love the story about the fart bombs
Have a lovely holiday
