I'm still happily playing with colours! I happen to
love this little pattern. It would make a good
fabric When I started playing I thought I
might use these journal pages as a first
layer. Not these ones though I like them
too much! The blue one below is the
original! I love how the colour
transitioned on this piece!
I'd like to thank Susan at the blog Scattered
for her sage comment last week. When she said,
"Each generation has it's challenges and they just
seem to get more complicated." It put everything
into perspective for me! You are so right Susan!
It frustrates me to see the same issues
rear their ugly heads from generation to
generation. I thought we had so many
kinks ironed out, but some issues tend
to repeat. My mom always said,
"History" repeats itself. How right she
was in many ways!
You always want better for your children.
Yet this generation doesn't quite seem to
have the same choices as we had! They'
have different choices. It's yet to be seen
if they are better.
For now I will focus on the good, continue to
play with colour and finish a large canvas I am
working on! Hope you all have a great week!
Do you think life is better for this
generation than in our day?

That is a question that is impossible to answer. It's different! Have fun with your colours, hugs, Valerie
The original painting here is my favourite , it's colors are so cheerful and bright! Oh yes, let us see the positive things and not always search for the bad. We are a blessed generation not to witness these two bad wars - aren't we- and our children will
hopefully have the chance not have to witness bad times as well.
And all will be good in the end !
Happy PPF and weekend - good luck with the big canvas and thank you for all your kind words this week on my blog! Thank you Sherrie!

That pattern would make a pretty fabric! I think each generations has it's own issues and has to deal with the issues of the past. As a high school teacher I can tell you that I am very concerned about the generation of kids we have now.
I was trying to pick a colour combo i liked best but couldn't
Happy PPF
much love...
Thanks Giggles! You know your blog always gets me thinking. I am only "lurking" this week as we have company for a few days. See you next week. Happy PPF
Lovely vibrant pattern! I think life is better, we still do progress over the generations overall. I prefer using a word processor over a typewriter for example.
Focusing on the good is the best plan! Love the color play!
Your wonderful bold and vibrant patterns would make super looking fabrics! To me that is a loaded ? you have posed. In some ways I do think things are better(definitely different) but personally I feel like the times past have been much simpler and the social skills were certainly better. Hope you are feeling well. Happy PPF!
Loving your joyful colors!
So happy and cheerful! A nice break from the snow outside!
I love color too...fun pieces!
Beautiful colors and shapes ~ a delight!
Happy Weekend,

I love your cheerful patterns. Not sure if life is better for this generation...just different...with the technology and all the hype from celebrity culture. I guess some of the lessons are essentially the same...e.g.figuring out how to be true to yourself.
Love your colours and free-flowing style. Things seem to get better for a while, then everything takes a step backwards. Someone told me once, "If you want to see the future, look at the past." I think this is so very true.
Cheery colours to brighten our winter!
Our younger people have way more choices and opportunities than we ever had.
As a teacher, I am however worried about many students. There seems to be an influx of poverty, and social issues and there are significant amounts of students with learning difficulties and special needs. Our school alone has seen so much change. 16 years ago, there was one identified student with autism. Now, we have in almost every class a student with autism. Some classes have two or three. Several students have speech difficulties, aren't potty trained and are functioning way below their age level. Things are very imbalanced.
Work ethic has also declined...
So many students don't know how to act in public and play freely. Respect for rules and authority has also declined.
Yes, we have more rights, choices and freedoms than people of the past, but priorities have changed and that worries me.
Focusing on the good is a fantastic theme for 2018. I'm still trying to pick my word. hm..
I really love the last one. I am not a "blue" person. LOL My daughter and I were discussing choices today. With the shutdown of our US government our choices seem to be less as others decide how we live and really what our choices are.
I really like your play with colours here! Difficult question to answer... I think every generation has its own challenges and obstacles to overcome. Life used to be simpler, but there were also less opportunities. Is that better? For some maybe ...
Beautiful art this week! I love the original colors. That's a hard question to answer. I agree with denthe that things used to be simpler.
I love how you put it...you are happily playing with colors. :D Made me smile. I've had the flu for the past week and a half and am finally (I hope) out of the thick of it. (sigh) Beautiful colors, my Friend. :D ((HUGS))
I think I will have time to play with colors soon too. Love your colorful work.
NO. life is not better for the young generation. But very different from what we had. I think life now is much more difficult. My granddaughter was studying Marine biplugy for 4 years. Took her grade 2 years ago. When she checked with her classmates only 1 has got a job. When my granddaughter applied for a job they said she can do volonteer work, that is, to pay for be able to work:(
When I was young you had to be 18 years old, asking for just minimum pay and have 10 years of experience. It is even worse today :(
