Check out Scott Stratton’s quick New video it's really cute, especially if you love dogs! It's a very short clips packed with wisdon. I am posting last weeks too, The eight principles of fun! because I don’t think everyone got to see the one about having fun! I loved them! They inspire important thought!

I was at

Sunday Scribblings " Inspiration"

Sunday Scribblings prompt is inspiration! So many things ignite my creative passion. Everything inspires me, from a mug of coffee, to a woman screaming at her child. Children, color, words, love and peace are my biggest passion, so it fuels my creative fire most. I embrace the silence that embodies inspiration! I feed off of surfing the net and conversation with like minded individuals. While keeping true to my unique spirit, I find lone bliss in creativity, I am never bored!
Inspiration

Inspiration reigns thought,
A whisper, a caption
A color, a word, a painting
Cordoned in a flash

Inspiration fired by
Injustice, negation
Frustration, indignation
Brewed into creative catharsis

Inspiration is born in revelry,
Epiphany, history
Antipathy, Inventory,
Sparking Innovative ecstasy

Inspiration initiated to
Analyze, Theorize,
Scrutinize, criticize
Unearthing perceptive resolution

Inspiration derives spirits’
Reflection, subjection
Inspection, rejection
Augmenting resourceful escalation

Compiled Congealed,
The artist, the writer
Inventor, scientist
Dimensionally arrives!

Damaged Creative Spirit

Yesterday after reading Ninnies blog about her brother, a potential artist feeling discouraged about his talent, after taking a few art classes at eleven. I was inspired to share Peppers story. As a little girl she made the cutest character drawings to accompany her stories, often taking more time with the art than the story. As a preteen she spent hour’s meticulously planning collages that represented her life.

First year of high school, she had a wonderful Art teacher who loved Peppers style and engaged her creativity. Pepper felt excited about every pending art project and also collaged in her spare time! Her fashion style of colored hair, and thrift store finds daily reflected her creativity.

Grade nine, she had a new conservative art teacher, who expected all the assigned projects to look similar. One day Pepper did a clay model of a skater dude; I chuckled at the cute caricature, fashioned after fourteen year old boy. One particular boy with a twenty eight inch waist; wore a size thirty something pants. Resting in the center of his bottom, he presented his pristine boxers to the world. Excess material slouched at his ankles, where his jumbo feet protruded. Resembling a gangly year old puppy! Many clones of this kid wandered the school yard, a reminder of my teen years, where Lee jeans, not as extreme, had to fit a certain way on my hips. Parents scoffed then, and they scoff today at certain styles. I chose to embrace youth and their variances. Giggling to myself at times.
The teacher criticized her clay skater boy, complaining it was completely out of proportion, grading her very low. Another alphabet project, they were to collage things about themselves for each letter, also graded low. Here are a few of my favorites, from the cherished book, depicting her mindset at fourteen. That insensitive denigration broke her spirit, ending her love of art class. She has done some sewing, made lots of jewelry and still wears clothes artistically. Disillusioned, by that teacher, she never took another art class. That one teacher managed to damage a part of my daughter’s creative spirit!

Obligatory Spirit Assassins

Laura’s Life

Bakes a cake, paints a toe, rides her bike, plays in snow
Goes to work, cleans her house, feeds the cat, sews a mouse
Sees her friend, takes a walk, writes a book, has a talk
Gives him sex, the kids a hug, wipes the table, vacuums rug
Makes a lunch, walks to school, dinners on, makes a rule
Plays with kids, drives to dance, helps with homework, irons pants
Watch a movie, have a shower, goes to bed, ungodly hour
Calls a friend, writes a letter, folds the laundry, things no better
Fights with husband, takes a call, another birthday, goes to mall
Does the laundry, gases car, picks up milk, finds a jar
Cans the pickles, makes a pie, fixes casserole, takes a sigh
Goes to brownies, drive to sports, bakes some cookies, makes a torte
Folds the laundry, cleans a drawer, washes windows, answers door
Takes out garbage, changes bed, cleans a toilet, now she’s dead
Holds her head up, pushes on, fixes tea. What went wrong?
Written by Sherrie

My friend is burned out. I wrote this poem for her ten years ago, I remember it was the beginning of March, 1996. It took five minutes to write. Not usually the norm for me! It was inspired by her busy existence, during the lowest ebb in my life. She had it mounted in her study for many years, it's now been replaced by a child's award. I suspect it sits there collecting dust, no one heeding the suggestion that she does way too much. As the years have passed, she has lovingly incorporated even more into that list.

I think her creative spirit is crying for attention. Seems she has to joust, for a small fraction of time to do what she loves. People shouldn't have to fight for time to be creative and alone with their thoughts. Constantly I hear women having to justify their right to follow their creative bliss. It makes me sad! Why can’t people see the needs of these women?

Seems I am continuously defending women who have done all the obligatory family things and now just want to do what they love. If you have lived close to fifty years and everything has taken precedence over you, then why is it unacceptable to do your own thing? Shame on those who deter the creative spirit!
