Paint Party Friday year two week five " Letting Go"

Once again Paint Party Friday where you too can peak in on a wonderful variety of artists blogs to see what they have accomplished this week!

                                                                    "Letting Go"

" Letting go" is my newest painting. I hesitate to add more color to this canvas, which was originally just a back ground. Instead I'd like to find a nice duvet and wall color to match, for a bedroom makeover! It's been a grueling decision, and the kids keep reminding me I need to pick a color. I have taken jaunts through pinterest and all over the net for inspiration. Who knew I'd be my own inspiration!

I've used vibrant color in all my homes long before it was fashionable, but the dark eggplant in my bedroom has grown tiresome and needs to change!! Still more to ponder, the rug, a furniture color, and hunting down a duvet.  You may come back to find my canvas completely painted over. For now I like it as is but I'm  known to change my mind on a whim!!   Are you brave when you decorate?

A doodle done in front of the boob tube!
Easter has always been a time of renewal for me so I've  been working on some personal changes. I bravely decided to buy Kelly Raes " Flying Lessons, The whole Shabang" e-book on her one day sale! Had I not been in a state of renewal I could have passed on  this amazing deal. Fortunately I leaped in and bought it.

At first I wrestled with spending the money. My internal "Negative Nelly" tried to dissuade me with "Who do you think you are, you won't use this information." "You're not a good enough artist to have anything become of your art." I only had a few hours to shush that Nelly. I  knew if Kelly Rae taught a class in my city I'd purchase it in a heartbeat! So I couldn't pass on  this one time opportunity. After I made up my mind to buy it, I told my daughter and son-in-law, who  were so supportive, encouraging me to follow my dreams!!

Within the first three pages of reading  I was overwhelmed with emotion. It's written as though speaking directly to me at this perfect moment in my life! Fifty pages in, I am enthralled with all the links and information she shares! I just can't wait to read more of Kelly's inspirational words then apply them to my life!! You can see some of Kelly's lovely home products in the photos I took at a local nursery here!

Revamped Wreath

This is the an old wreath I revamped for eight dollars!
It looks better in person and even glistens in the sunlight.
I bought the plastic sparkly, and plain balls in varied sizes at a dollar store!
Two shades of blue off set  the silver!
Not normally a blue person, I am surprisingly attracted to it lately!

This  red one at pier 1 imports is shockingly $115.00!!! In person it doesn't
 look this full!

This silver one, also at pier 1 imports is $80.00, no where near this full looking in person! My daughter  said ours looks way better. I had planned to add some ribbon to mine, but decided against it!

Got an old wreath laying around that looks kind of 80's or 90's ish a little limp and outdated? Give it a revamp! Fill your boots at the dollar store! Check out a few, they all have different decorations!  Get a little floral wire then go to town with anything that suits your fancy! Happy decorating!

Sunday Scribblings " Recipe"

Sunday Scribblings " Recipe"
My daughter had a tight bright party to attend last night. She started to roll out the double recipe of sugar cookies she'd prepared the previous night. Her hands were perspiring profusely and kept slipping off the rolling pin.... So super mummy to the rescue,( even though this was not in my plan) rolled out several cookie sheets of music notes, and tiny guitars for the musicians Birthday bash.

More than I'd like to count broke in half. We mixed up several colors,
sat at a big table and had a decorating fest.

I even decorated the broken cookies....which I actually liked best. Which goes to show sometimes the broken ones can shine dispite their imperfections. Art presents in so many ways during the day at times living in the moment can be the most fun. We turned a negative into a positive, they went to their party. I had a lovely dinner and visit with my dear artist friend from the magic cottage!

My big beautiful son in law in his thrift store pants that just so
happen to be Zara mens brand new,( tags still) on for a few bucks!

Recipe for contentment

Dissuading the voice of negativity, from self and others

Being strong in your convictions despite criticism

Knowing, what may suit others, may not be right for you

Setting boundaries to free time, enjoy family, create and keep your sanity

Enjoying the essence that is you, as odd as that may be

Respect that we are all unique with individual gifts to share

Realizing and believing YOU are BETTER than YOU think you are!!!

Feeling peaceful in our aloneness

Listening to (gods’ whispers) or intuition to find the core of who we are

Expressing yourself without reservation, knowing it may not always be well received

Listening with compassion, and without judgement

Be generous with empathy

Seeing the world with as much humour as possible

Laughing at your follies, as a celebration of humanity and a means for joy

Laugh often, be goofy, shake it up once in a while and see the humor in life

Looking beyond justice into truth....it’s different for each of us!

Sharing what you can afford, anything that’s an asset to you

Harness impatience and really connect with your surroundings

Love deeply without expectation!

Let music fill your soul
