Paint Party Friday " What do you stand for"

This is a large cradle board I did a short while back! It always starts out as one thing  and ends up completely different! I loved the evolution of Kristens painting, you can check it out here!
It sits in my downstairs powder room. I'm hoping it inspires thought! I know if you stand for nothing you'll fall for anything! So " What do you stand for?"   I purposely left out the question mark!

Here is a view sitting on the  commode!  Funny how the two photos
show completely different tone of turquoise! This is more the likeness.
I've always stood for children, animals and abused women! Giving them a voice when they didn't have one. Often getting me in trouble for speaking up! I called the SPCA on a neighbor when I was in my twenties because he left his dog tied up while on holidays! I was furious! I have been a confidante when children have needed someone they could trust. Sometimes I've had dilemmas knowing I needed to speak up but couldn't for safety reasons! Thankfully blogs are a nice outlet to be heard!

I know this is a paint party Friday, and I should stay on  a happy note, but some how
I have contacted the flu so I'm late posting. Who has the flu in June? It's a chest cold, with chills and fever! My daughter and her husband have been so awesome, they made me delicious homemade chicken soup, and brought me piles of blended cold drinks, and medicine! Keep checking on me as I stay in my room, contaminating only the upstairs! I'm wishing myself well soon!

This is a great idea. And you put it in a spot that you will see first thing in the morning and the last thing in the evening. Awesome!

Your painting is great! And it looks perfect sitting over the door.

I'm sorry you're not feeling so good but it sounds like you're getting a bit of pampering. Get lots of rest and enjoy all the homemade goodies.

The sentiment of this is cool. You crack me up with the view from the can :)
Of course you are right, if you stand for nothing at all, then how the hell can you know who you are?

amy

This is such a wonderful sign! The colors and shapes (and the message) are fantastic :) I love that you hung it up above the doors (an often neglected bit of wall space)... fabulous!

I hope you feel better soon - I'm glad that your daughter and son-in-law are taking such good care of you!
