Intuition and Crazy Dresses Paint Party Friday!

Blotch Dress made of residual paint blotted off another painting!
By nature I'm generally even tempered and flexible.  In my fifty eight years I  remember only feeling the heat of my temper flare a few times. At fifteen when  mother and her sister attacked me with unjustified criticism while drinking wine. I verbally defended myself, then left the house. The frenetic thirty minute walk to my boyfriends place in the dark literally  felt like seconds! The ire felt unfamiliar and replaced my usual bruised feelings.  It wasn't  the first time they bullied me and wouldn't be the last. In retrospect it's understandable that I finally snapped!
Crazy "Head Dress"
Then at  forty when my daughters dad accused her of lying to cover up his own deceit. I became Infuriated knowing  he'd  tampered with her intuition.  Something I had carefully honed for years. I was privy to the truth and my insides burst into flames as I finally took a stand for myself and my daughters integrity!
Crazy Dress " Eyes on you"
The intuition I nurtured in my daughter has kept her safe over the years. It enables her to read people well! To accurately  size up a new girl at eight who I  kept encouraging her to befriend who would later steal her pencil collection. To knowing the lady she smiled at the other day might be a bit off, long before she started screaming obscenities at her for no reason! As a teen her body would react to those instances that were unsafe. To this day her husband heeds her intuition immediately knowing she is rarely wrong. It's near impossible to keep a secret from her.   She guessed her pink boots one Birthday when we painstakingly attempted to dissuade her intuition by secretly facing a snow storm she knew I'd never attempt.   The only surprise that year,  was where they were hidden!

From the time she was little I asked lots of questions. Often surprised at her blunt truthful answers. Telling me which dads were mean when moms weren't around to which ones were kinder than they appeared! Her answers  were telling and somewhat of a precursor to dramas that  manifested later. She's always made good choices and I like to think her intuition is an impeccable  predictor!

If she  surmises somethings off when meeting someone new, it's not long before it's proven correct! Innately she knows and has always drawn good people to her side!  For generation the woman on my maternal side have had amazing intuition, yet Cupcake trumps us all! It's her guide and has been her whole life! Has she been hurt by people?  Absolutely devastated by a few.. her intuition warns her not to let it happen again!

As a shy child I never forced her out of her comfort zone by making her hug people just because they visited our home. From early childhood I constantly asked her how she felt about many issues. Often surprised by her mature and candid answers. I was open and honest with her and told her I'd never lie to her except on special occasions when I needed to keep presents secret! Eventually she came out of her shell. As an adult she's very friendly yet a great listener!

Over the years I've observed people  totally ignore their intuition when it came to partners and children. How about you, have you let your intuition guide you in the right direction? Or do you prefer to ignore it?

Such fun and funky dresses here! I definitely go by my intuition, always guided by my feelings and what feels right.

Such clever dresses, love them all and their colour changes too. I'm going to go for the first dress with the little lime bird and also because of how you made it, what good fun. The dress with the eyes and the striped stockings to go with it are pretty good too and suitably crazy.
Ah, intuition, if only it was right all the time, maybe 95% of the time, hopefully?

Oh, your crazy dresses are just wonderful! I would love to own the last one :-)
I find the older I get the more I tend to listen to my intuition....

I think intuition is sadly underrated and underused nowadays. I think its something that our ancestors probably relied on a lot more but over the years we've been told to rely on logic instead. I use my intuition a lot. I'm a pretty sensitive person and have rarely men wood when my intuition had told me something is wrong or someone is upset about something. Sometimes that fur feeling had to be listened to even if you're head is saying it is nonsense! X

I try to listen to my intuition because too many times I didn't in the past, I got burned. We do know down deep, don't we? Love the dresses this week. Very very clever.

These are all great dresses, but my absolute favorite is the one with all the portraits on the print. As to your question, I've always used a combination of intuition and my reasoning skills in everything I do. That's how I make decisions about life decisions, as well as the way I size-up people. It can be a slow process, but I'm right most of the time Happy PPF and Blessings, my dear friend!

Love your colorful dresses and their meanings. Before I came here to read your blog, my instincts told me it would be a good read. As you can see I followed my instincts and it was well worth it.:) Great message as always. Have a wonderful day.

I love all those cool dresses and yes, when I don't trust my intuition, I am usually sorry that I didn't.

I love your dresses Sherrie!
And it is a good idea to listen to your intuition, though sometimes the feeling only gives us a hint and it is difficult to react on something you don't really know.
I agree with your approach. You have been very aware of things going on around you!
Happy PPF and lots of hugs

Love the dresses-and I'd DEF wear the first one with the vibrant pink! I try to let my intuition guide me as much as I can.Even my hubby now uses intuition all the time and it has helped him steer clear of some really bad "this doesn't feel good" situations. Have a wonderful weekend!

I have terrible intuition. I tend to be attracted to narcissists. I'm reading a book about boundaries, which I never learned so that is helping. :) I think God gave me my hubby and didn't even let me be involved at all because he is the most humble and amazing man. Lucky! My troubles seem to be with women. Giggles, you are making me confide in you again ;) You have a wonderful way of writing and making me want to share!! Your cupcake was lucky to have you nurture her and inspire! HUGS

Love the dresses (again). . . you need to design dresses, they are great. Intuition, yep, but it has always scared me. I know things and it is scary. Blessings, Janet PPF

Great blotchy dresses, Sherrie. My kids both have good intuition skills, but I didn't purposely do anything to aid that along. It just happened. It is a mother's job to protect her children and teens from dangers in society. Your daughter sounds like a wonderful person.

I love your eyeball dress the best! It would be SO fun to wear that to a special art event! I always listen to that little voice in my head, even when my brain thinks it knows better :)

I must say that your post is very powerful. As i mother I'm trying to figure out how to guide my girls toward the right way and intuition plays a big part. you've sparked my thinking button. :D Love your dresses, they work so beautifully with what you have written. lovely!

Hi Sherrie, Love your paintings, I have also always had intuition about people, it can be difficult at times as I meet a person and thinks yeah, you are not what you seem to be and when I have voiced my concerns I get criticized for being negative, yet time and time again my intuition/discernment have been proved right. When I keep silent I get criticized for not having voiced my concerns, it is a difficult gift to have! But it has saved me from many potential disasters! I haven't posted this week as I have been offline after a bad storm knocked out my landline for 3 days. Had damage to my roof, guttering and I lost my greenhouse, well it visited next door!!!! All is calm now.

The dresses are great! I don't own a dress but I'd wear these.

As for my intuition, in the past there were times I didn't pay attention and paid the price. Now I listen to that inner voice.

Intuition is a huge thing for us... Trusting instincts are the way Phants and I make decisions usually, though it drives sinus mad... He is the one who reasons and considers, but I suppose that is why we are a good team... Love some of the paintings this week by the way... Xx

It sounds like you have a wonderful relationship with your daughter. I listen to my intuition, but every now and then I ignore it, sadly. I love those eyes.
