Thank god it's 10 years after... This happened to me too. It was more verbal (some bruising where he grabbed me numerous times) But the words HURT so much. Yes...the children are also victims.
Wow….. Sorry you were abused Gemma. My twenty three year marriage was mostly verbally abusive too. There were a few incidences of man handling as well. Not to minimize it, but there are women who are tormented, and beaten to a pulp on a daily basis. Not in a million years would I have imagined my marriage ending like it did. Yes, the verbal abuse is the most damaging; as the bruises heal, but the emotional scars live on forever. Such a relief to have peace in my life, and yes I’m glad its ten years later. May we both live happy, blissful lives, ever after!
Thank goodness for Patricia Evans books, Verbal Abuse and The verbally abusive relationship. Both helped me see that we were never in the same reality. Also the book Crazy Time by Abigail Trafford was another insightful book that got me through the worst of my divorce.
