Wrinkles
Embrace each line,
For it carries wisdom of experience
Weathered blustery storms of
Grief, dissension, and exhaustion
Fought off contempt and condemnation
Cajoled through distasteful circumstances
Worked through adverse conditions
Carried burdens of loved ones debris
They are scars of grace and honor
Rightfully earned with strength of spirit,
Acumen of understanding locked away
Yet eagerly shared with the boldly interested!

Heartful felt post!
Very nice.
Oh, if only I could think all those wonderful things when I see them reflected back in the mirror. Thank you for helping me see the better side.
Your illustration was wonderful, I loved the lips. That last line was great!
I'm boldly interested so share away. ;) HUGS
I find that if I look in the mirror without my glasses, those wrinkles disappear! Magic!!
Living here in Az. my skin has been exposed to harsh elements. All the pix from Sedona show a cross hatch of weathered storms and scars of grace and honor on my face....your words make it not seem so bad.
Love you!!
xx
i think embracing every line is something old married people do... it is different being alone and visibly aging.. you have no one to reflect your self worth off of...
Great illustration (love those lips and neck!) and wonderful poem. One thing I have noticed about getting older, maybe I don't like the look of it, but I care less what others think about me and there's a certain amount of freedom in that.
Amen!! :-)
...the scars of grace and honor hard won tributes to a life of experience. We should embrace these as visible signs of our life travels. xx, JP/deb
Nice illustration. Love the zany earrings! And your sentiment is so very true!
