Altered Lunch Kit and Three Word Wednesday

I altered a plain white Lunch kit months ago. I planned to glitter the cheeks
then varnish it, but haven't purchased new varnish yet!

I gessoed it first , then painted it with acrylic paints. I don't see why you couldn't purchase a clean metal lunch box at a thrift store, prime it with gesso and white acrylic and paint over it as well!
This photo and next one aren't as clear as the last two,
the cheek colors are more even than they appear!
I think this would be a great project for preschoolers or elementary school children. They could alter it, then store art supplies or little treasures in it! Some may be afraid of being teased if they take it to school. But since there is such a drive to be green and recycle it's a great way to preserve old metal lunch kits from hitting the landfills!
My small kit holds many sharpies, my water color pencil crayons
and my sparkley h2o paints!

Intimate
River

Waiting

I’m not going to lie! I don’t enjoy small talk, willing to avoid it at all cost. Words without meaning or substance bore me, except of course if there is humor involved. I can be seen darting out of an isle if I spy someone I haven’t seen in ages. Just to rescue myself from those uncomfortable moments of small talk. Today’s Three word Wednesday reminded me of the many seemingly happy couples who in actuality are very unhappy!

A river of intimate words waiting to be said

Ambling their home emotionally catatonic

Physically present, the play goes on

Acting as though life is busy and exciting

But in actuality the intimacy is void

Who are these actors really?

Now I'll be on the hunt for an old lunchbox! That is just too cute! And what a perfect place to keep your markers and paints. Do you stay up all night thinking of all these great projects??

sometimes i think they ought to tell you when you get married,, the only real reason to do it is so you will not be alone in your old age.... but then,, maybe i am just jaded......

Beautiful artwork - I agree about your idea that this would be terrific for kids!!

Powerful poem. Sadly too many couples "pretend" their happiness.
