Painted guitar "Covenant of Color"

 Covenant of Color Painted Guitar
This is my first contribution to paint party, you can check out others here!

This guitar was done for a charity event. It will be on display in a silent auction.
The proceeds will go towards a Music Therapy program at Childrens hospital. It's a non functioning guitar, done as an art piece only!
 Sadly these photos don't come close to doing it justice.
  The colors married so beautifully, under a high gloss sheen.
 I'm so proud of the results.
 It was a pleasure doing this project considering it was dropped in my lap last minute only because a two other artists dropped out!  I started with one idea, but  it took on a life of it's own. I have some old oak  chairs in my home, that need enhancing with this colorful swirled process! Stay tuned!
When my mother was dying they had a music therapist in palliative care. I went from room to room harmonizing and entertaining  with the lovely young  musician. It  was cathartic, and for a few moments took my mind off mothers pending demise! I imagine music therapy brings even more joy to children!
 I was sad to see this piece go because I fell in love with it! If it doesn't get a high enough bid I'll buy it back myself! The time and love that went into it would be well  worth it! If not I'll just do another for my wall!
For now I'll relinquish it! If I miss it too badly I can at least visit it
for the next  three   months!

Gorgeous!!! How did you do that swirly effect? I love it. I'm sure someone else will, too and pay big for it.

That is beautiful! Same as you - I loooove color, and you used color so brilliantly that it's a joy to see. No wonder you are having difficult time saying bye-bye to it.

Love the colors! My fav is the swirls of color in loose abandonment on the sides and back. don't know why you couldn't put strings and pegs on it and get it work again, couldn't you? {I don't know much about guitars though}

Om my goodness!!! This is gorgeous! I love it . . .Several years back we painted an old guitar. My husband is an excellant guitar player and each of our children painted a portion of it for a fathers day gift. Its a great art piece - but yours is spectacular! Thanks for sharing. :)
