It's paint party Friday again! I look forward to it every week, traveling around to all the fascinating blogs to see what everyone is working on is so much fun!
Here's an older painting I plan on reworking... the males face needs some work.I don't care for his nose, eyes, or skin tone... the whole thing needs more work!
This week I've had a few lunches with different friends. One friend I see annually, but there was a time we were besties. Family obligations pulled us apart, but the love's still there! We make sure to meet around our birthdays. But for the first time in twenty five years the time got away on us!! Funny how no matter how much time goes by we take up where we left off. We chatted for four hours and I had such a loving feeling for my friend when we parted! I even had a few tears too, for all the memories we shared in our twenties and thirties, and how fleeting life is. We worked hard, laughed hard and played hard too! We shared many secrets and no matter how little we see each other the love is still there! I had my camera out but some how it didn't seem appropriate to take a photo! Wish I did though.
Check out this HUGE transformation. I've carted my grandfathers table around to three different homes for the past thirty five years and never painted it. Mostly it had a cloth over top of it or it was in a garage! Recently I decided it needed new life instead of being a dust collector. See how ugly it was!!!
Before The ugly side table
I had silver knobs laying around the house and threw them on after it was painted. Then Dear Daughter came home with these awesome rose knobs that were the perfect match. What a difference they made. Then she went back and bought me enough for my bedroom suite. So that will soon be on the agenda to revamp. Also thirty five years old and in much need of sprucing up!
Which do you prefer, the rose knobs or the silver ones! Be honest I won't be offended!

You've been busy...love the transformation on the furniture piece...the blue definitely pops! Happy PPF! POP ART MINIS
I want that cabinet! I like the art nouveau feel and the color, but the flower knobs make the whole cabinet! It's sooooo cute!
Glad you had such a wonderful time with your friend. I had a friend like that a long time ago and we have lost touch. I wish I could find her. Sigh.
Happy PPF! :-)
I like that painting and will be looking forward to what you do to it.
Each set of knobs gives the piece a different look so it depends on what look you want. The rose knobs look feminine and romantic while the silver knobs look more streamlined, and maybe even a bit Art Deco.
Thank you for sharing your story and am loving your alteration, fab work. Happy PPF, x
I like the rose knobs, they seem to go with the whimsical quality of the piece. Nice reading about you connecting with your old friend.
Love, Love, LOVE what you've done with that table. It looks brand new and so funky! I also like your portraits. I'm heavily into portrait painting (and drawing) myself, so I can appreciate all the different styles. Can't wait to see what more you do with this one!
Happy PPF!!
I do love the blue rose knobs. And you are so right. A real friendship can pick up after 25 or 50 or in my case 69 years and it is as if no time has passed. The love and friendship is still strong.
I look forward to PPF all week, too!
Happy PPF!!

Rose knobs ~ Love what you created and so special! ~thanks, namaste, Carol (Share the Creative Journey) and HPPF ^_^
I like both knobs but I thing the roses get lost in the blue...? It doesn't look bad at all, but in the picture, they don't pop as much as the other pair.
It is a nice piece, love it!
Love the remodel! I think it's sweet that your daughter brought you the glass knobs ~ personally, I like them better than the silver :) Thanks for sharing!
What a gorgeous art deco table! Did your grandfather have great taste in furniture, or was this a lucky accident?
I think the silver knobs compliment the sleek lines, but the roses are such a perfect color match...hard to choose.
I like the silver knobs. goes better with that amazing little table. Nice work!!
When I first saw your table makeover I thought, "Wow - those are cool knobs!"... Then I saw the silver ones and I love, love, love how they look! I think both work, but I prefer the sleek silver on that particular table...
*But* those rose knobs definitely need to find a prominent place in your home! They are awesome! (Maybe somewhere where they really stand out all on their own?)
xo

Rose, but then I would say that!!
Oh the rose knobs for sure, they really set it off! Spectacular renovation! I got to have a wonderful visit with my ole high school friends a few months ago when I went to So cal to see my mom, it was sooooooo fun going to Disneyland agian together like we did back then. It seemed like no time at all had passed, we just giggled ourselves silly the whole time! Happy PPF! Deb

The cabinet looks fantastic! I love repainting furniture, especially pieces that have some history. You have given this one a whole new life. I like the flower knobs!!
