Listening to yourself at the right times, Paint Party Friday

Show Your face Friday
Summer of Color

Cupcake had a deviated septum surgery last week. Not once
was she worried. In fact she was excited that she may
have less sinus issues! It went well even though she had
food poisoning two days before. I was concerned she was
going under after being so sick for twenty four hours!
She wasn't worried, so I took her cue and tried not
to worry either. Beardo was amazing at the aftercare.
Icad 50 Art is power
I taught my daughter to question things she doesn't feel right about and use her greatest gift of intuition. Her intuition is untainted...as a child I never forced to hug people she felt uncomfortable with, or  kiss relatives... She soon warmed up to those who earned her trust. She was wary.... and careful. To this day even her husband heeds her intuition...it is so powerful. She has traveled alone with it and heeds it at every turn! It's her great protector.
Icad 46 worth it!
I've come from a long line of intuitive women. My mom was so intuitive, I was the only kid on the block caught the moment I crossed the line. Mom always knew. I was always perplexed how other kids moms hadn't a clue what their kids were doing, yet my mom, the only working mother  of the bunch always  seemed to know and check!
Icad 45 Discover in the silence
Over the years I have witnessed many women not heed their intuition and others who have wanted to ignore it, knowing the alternative could mean a drastic change or disappointment in their life! I have a friend whose intuition was strong but always about five minutes off the mark. A few moments before something happened, she'd get the warning. Making life a bit of a rush for her!! Her young son got a nasty burn on his hand from fireworks he wasn't suppose to have.  She attempted to locate him minutes before he lit them. Thankfully he recovered unscathed!

Icad 47 Pick Well
I've had very few speeding tickets in my 40 years of driving, one when I was six months pregnant and another one on a road I rarely drove. Just before I went over the hill I had this strong feeling,  there would be a radar trap ahead..it was the strangest feeling...that knowing!! I pulled over before the cop could get his lights on!

Icad 50 question the universe
It's impossible to surprise Cupcake I once went out in a snowstorm to get her  pink leather boots for her birthday. She had no inkling I'd even left the house.  I was home long before school ended, hid them well, and never spoke of it. Still she knew!!
 Icad 49 Embrace Difference
She always knew the right kids  to hang out with. I would often point in the direction of the wrong kids... but her intuition was always there to protect her from harm. Time and time again her intuition has been so spot on, it's impossible for me or Beardo to ever question it! The other night I had a chilling feeling we needed to close our back door... She had the same feeling but neither of us mentioned it.  Thirty minutes later some nefarious young men were rummaging around in the lot behind us. She ruffled the blinds in her room to peer out,  they scurried, then returned later.
Icad   healthy goals
So many times Cupcake has returned from the city early only to hear there was something devastating happen near where she'd been.  Her body is so in tune with the universe and what's happening around her. Thankfully she seems to get a clear signal long before something happens! I often do too, even though mine is sometimes muddied!

Icad 48 don't over think it!

How about you do you think you have a keen intuition before the fact or does it kick in after, when it's too late?

Fun art work. Intuition can be helpful, as it long as it doesn't make us over fearful! Happy PPF, Hugs, Valerie

Thanks for your long letter of explanation/answers to my questions from last week! Much appreciated. I too trust my intuition. Sometimes it's almost been like a "second sense". My son used to think I had eyes behind my head, well, I told him I did, and he believed me. He said he believed it for a very long time. Again, your art pieces are lots of fun. You might consider posting some of the food pieces on Paper, Paint, Pencils & Pens. Missing you there! Hugs, Lynn

Oh I really love all of these, as usual so colourful and full of your authentic style!
I do tend to have an intuitive feeling and trust in that, I really go with the flow of what feels right. I think most women tend to have a good intuition, it's just about slowing down sometimes and listening.
All the best to Cupcake for a speedy and full recovery!

I love your birds and the bottles this Friday ;) Thanks for your thoughts on intuition. Have a nice weekend...

Another interesting post. I think I'm a very intuitive person but more so about picking up on other people's moods and emotions rather than getting premonitions of things about to happen. I'll get gut feelings about things that I'm thinking of doing and have started to listen more to that - it's part of reiki training as well being more in tune with your intuition which is why I'm learning to listen to that inner voice rather than dismiss it out of hand.

I noticed your quote of the day today - it's better to rust out than wear out - I'm not sure I agree with that one as surely only things that sit still and don't move get rusty - I'd rather wear out from doing all the things I want to do. Not sure what the guy who said that was thinking!!

Colour art today as usual! Glad Cupcake survived her surgery and food poisoning!

Loving your art as always.... So much fun and thought provoking at the same time. Your words speak volumes ... my intuition comes and goes but when it's working I know to listen and take heed. It was much stringer when I was a child and a young mother. I think probably I just stopped recognizing it for what it is. Have funfilled weekend .

I think you really hit the nail on the head as they say with the don't worry about the evolution. It is so hard sometimes to just let it happen. And I hope you really had and enjoyed that sandwich and drink...it looks yummy here on my computer, even in bold bright colors.

Love that purple faced punk rocker! Intuition....Interesting topic! I just joined a site on intuition yesterday. I definitely heed my intuition these days. I used to override it with my logical voice but now listen and trust intuition more. It can warn of danger, help with choosing colours to use in painting and much more I guess!

Great post and drawings. Speedy recovery to Cupcake. Yes I do get feelings from time to time. Gut feelings when things don't seem to be going right. Anyway I loved your bottles, great job on all. Fantastic work.

Enjoyed your paintings as usual. I think women, in general, are more intuitive than men because they are often more spiritually open to hearing that little voice within.

So colorful! Most I like the bottles.
Oh yeah, I have a kind intuition too, but not always. In the deal with other persons I lose all my intuition, as an autistic woman I'm often helpless and overwhelmed by social situations...

oooh what really fabulous eye candy here!!! Of course, your thoughts and words always have me pondering too. I definitely have intuition but it's taken me awhile to recognize it as such and to listen to what comes. My hubby has very keen intuition and it truly has gotten him out of some precarious and possibly dangerous situations. Hope Cupcake is doing very well now. Have a fantastic weekend!

Wonderful use of colour again and such interesting text. Intuition amazes me, although I've not always known when to trust it. Like you, I trained my daughter to not feel impelled to let adults hug her etc until she really felt she wanted to trust them and to have confidence in her own judgement of people and situations. Sometimes it's a bit of a bare-knuckle ride with kids, but we do have to give them the space to test out their own perceptions of others. I love how your very individual and beautiful art so complements the stories you have to tell. I come away from your blog feeling as if I have been in the company of a friend. xxx

I have always had a strong sense of intuition, but I can honestly say not one strong enough to pull over before the cop put on his lights!!!!!!

Great art work and a fabulous post. I never learnt to trust my intuition as a child in fact the opposite but as my art journey has taken off I'm learning to trust it more andto lead my art. Thanks for such a thought post and have a fab weekend hugs Debs xx

I loved all of the words of advice on your cards today. Each one spoke to me.

Although all of the personality tests would say that I use what I have learned from past experiences more than my intuition I am not sure that they are right. I definitely go with my intuition more and more as I get older. If something doesn't feel right than I walk away.

I hope Cupcake is doing well and that the surgery will help with her sinus problems.

I trust my intuition a lot too.

When I was younger, it was very keen. I would have a feeling that something bad would happen, but I wouldn't know what would happen. I once had the bad feeling and then learned later that my cousins had a terrible accident, leaving one in a wheelchair and the other dead.

Perhaps it was my mother's constant worrying that used to get to me. I have learned to not worry so much.

Now I try to use my intuition for positive things, such as guessing lucky numbers in a draw, or the amount of time a barrel racer took or the score of a bareback rider at the rodeo.

At four workshops I attended in a series, I knew I was going to win a door prize and I did. At the fifth one, I knew it was someone else's turn to win.

I really enjoyed seeing your colorful art and the captions to go with. I especially enjoyed the pickle and burger piece!

I've often had intuitive feelings about some event, usually bad feelings, and they are almost always wrong, for which I am quite glad.
I like your cards with birds best this week, especially the second bird who also has a good quote, and I like the last Icad too, great painting and excellent advice.

I loved reading your post! Intuition is such an amazing thing and it is something that needs to be nurtured in our children, not driven out. You are a wonderful mom and an amazing artist! I love all of the works of art you posted this week! And how you used the last week's SOC colors. It has been a pleasure following you through these past 6 weeks. Hugs, Sharon

What lovely art, and loved your narrative. Yes, many times my intuition has saved the day. When I didn't heed it disaster. I do think some have the gift of intense intuition, but all of us have some God given intuition.

So glad your daughter came though her surgery okay... what a double whammy with food poisoning as well! I love your paintings, my favourite is the toucan bird - he's so colourful and bright... eyecatching. You've showcased some fabulous works here in this post! I love visiting!

There is a really fun spirit and brightness to your work that I really respond to. I especially enjoy your rendition of the toucan.

I'm glad to hear you both have such good intuition. I love the little birdie painting! I hope she heals quickly from the surgery.

OMGosh I love 'Embrace Difference' what a great pic of someone I would love to meet (not romantically). Doing the different dance is what I'm sorting out. . . not letting others ideas dictate and just being me. Today, for some reason, I seem to be a 'man' magnet. . .good grief, the well goes dry and all of a sudden it fills up. . .now if only. . . well, that's another guy for another season (hopefully). LOL. Love your wonderful posts and creative art, Always. Blessings, Janet PPF

Wonderful art and thoughtfulness, I'm always second guessing myself and I'm never sure of my intuition, I'm glad Cupcake is sure of hers. Thanks for linking up to Show Your Face and for the shout out too. Kx

I'm sliding in late, as usual. I read your post earlier this week, but never came over to comment. Oops!! I hope your daughter is healing fast. That's quite the surgery. I know someone who had it done. Unfortunately, it didn't work well for him..his symptoms never improved. :/
