Sometimes I feel like a Nut!

It doesn't often show up on my blog posts  that I am a bit of a nut at times!! I answer the phone  Hellur like Medea in Tyler Perry movies. When Beardo arrives home he usually chimes hello in his sing song voice! While I can be known to answer back with a  ," Hellur, Wiggle wiggle wiggle!!! "
It's said that a dog greets you with unconditional love. They usually jump up and wiggle their bums at door on your arrival! We no longer have a dog so I try my best to welcome the kids with love and humour. Since my bad hip doesn't allow  me to physically  wiggle  in jest, as a homage of love. I call it out instead! It's bad enough both kids are  exposed to the  wiggles and jiggles beyond my control as I hobble around! It would be highly inappropriate to do it on purpose, especially at my size!

My   Hellur with a  wiggle wiggle wiggle usually garners a smile, or chuckle. They both know my quirky comments are all gestures of love!!  After all home should always be your soft place to fall!
I am considering buying a remote control dog with a wiggly bum  that will run to the door to greet the them with love!  Who wouldn't want to come home to  a little fake dog wigging it's bum!  For now a real dog is out of the question!

Beardo teases  me too of course! Which I love. Especially when I make what he calls "dad jokes" or when I make " "Dad sounds"  you know when the balsamic vinegar dressing tickles your throat to the point of coughing. I know my friend Dreamer understands this one since she's had a family member tease her about a tickle induced coughing fit!

Age often brings on inappropriate nonnegotiable sounds. That and beans!  It really is a time when you need a dog to blame!  What is with those different sounds of aging  anyway? Of course I'm sure many of you don't have them, or you just don't live with a peanut gallery who points them out! I especially love it when Cupcake teases me, and I can all but hear Beardo say, uh huh while he nods in agreement! I am so glad I can laugh at myself with my kids!!

This is such a fun video with advice we could all use! I love this Character and how Tyler Perry portrays her!

What quirky things besides putting the word "the" in front of every building you speak about do you do that you never did when you were young?

I love that you can smile at yourself. Your post made me smile too. You buy that robot dog! I love the thought of being greeted by a wee robot dog wiggling its bum. I just have cats. They only greet me if I bring food! Age has made me get more quirky, it removes some of the social norm conditions we are meant to adhere to. We can become ourselves...it's one of the great things maturity brings.

I love your Picasso like faces! Must I admit to similar sounds coming from this house too? Heavens forbid! My 4 year old grand daughter had no problem pointing out my "squishy skin" on my neck this week. Last visit it was queries about the spots on my face and hands. Before that it was the loose skin on my arms! These little people see it all and let you know too! There is no denying aging around them!
Your sense of humor keeps us both young though and I thank you for that! Xo enjoy another creative week!

Nowadays I speak to myself a lot. Out loud. Also outdoors. That I didn't when I was young :D

I don't just feel I am a nut, I am truly a nutcase!

Happy and sunny weekend!

Oh definitely talking to myself more. I recorded myself by accident in the garden talking away 'I wonder if there are any baby bunnies around here. I really want to see those lil babies.' Oh I am a total fruitcake.

Such a wiggly dog to greet you when you come home sounds great! It is wonderful when you have a home where you can laugh together and feel total at ease. Everyone should have a home like that. Your abstract faces look great, they just make me smile :)

Tyler Perry is one talented actor! This was such a great video with a message that's worth remembering. I loved the analogy of the tree. I also loved the description you gave of greeting your family when they come home. I could see a little dog wagging its tiny butt. I could also hear you as you called out your greeting.

About my portrait. I did that a number of years ago and one side of the face looked like my sister and one side looked like me. Besides the eyes were not lined up right. I got it out and worked on it a bit. the eyes are still off and it still looks like both of us did thirty years ago. I am just going to let it be now. I give up on making it me only.

YAY, it didn't go entirely away. . . wiggle wiggle. The faces are great and the colors always dynamic. I love that you always give such sage advice. The video went straight to my granddaughter. Hopefully, she's not too flamoxed to understand it. Ahhh I know we 'have to make our own mistakes,' but this will be a doozy and I 'know' how it will turn out. Prayers for hip and many Blessings, Janet

This post had me giggling. And your flower-head face looks great in all her colours. I think some (many?) families have funny words or sentences they use and they can sound extremely strange if we forget and say them in the presence of others.
I still feel about six years old so I can't answer your last question, haha!

I feel a spot of Piscasso in your paintings! Lots of fun! And weird things that I do? How about finding a song line in a lot of what people say or do and actually breaking out into that song? (my children have caught that particular little wierdism off me) :-)

Oh Giggles you are too funny!!! I guess that is why you are Giggles, right? Your kids are all blessed to have your humor in their lives. Even tho' you don't have a dog anymore...when those moments of "barking spiders" (farts) happen, I reply with a long drawn out Wwwwhhhhaaaattt, just like they all did when we were on car trips, or actually anywhere.

As always your artwork is so awesome. Do you change up the colors digitally or paint each drawing separately? Either way they are always so cute and colorful and make me smile. Thanks for a GREAT post!!!! That was fun. Happy PPF. Hugs, Rasz

Loved reading about your greeting ritual! In our house we enter the house and shout 'Bonjour!' The correct response from whoever might be in the house is 'Hola!'

It's great to read that you spread a humorous atmosphere when the children come home. I missed that in my childhood home. And I love your humorous paintings as well :)
