Sad Week

perplexed faces
Such a heartbreaking week. I have been crying off and
on, sleeping short intervals at a time, and dreaming
every single time the whole week long! Not since the
twin towers tragedy when my brother, the faidy cat flyer
was stuck in Toronto sleeping at some random
relatives of his ex, trying to avoid  their stinky pillows
 have I felt this way!
I remember feeling so devastated for the people whose
innocent family members went to work and never came
homes. I was sick for days.

Cupcake and Beardo were married in Vegas, Cupcake
often went there for business trade shows, and as you
know they both love their concerts! Even though country
music isn't the genre they gravitate to,  a few artists
they love fall under that umbrella. My kids  could have
easily been one of those concert goers! My heart
sinks every time I think of it!
I just had to paint  to divert my brain. Four sad faces appeared.
Sadly even though this happened nothing will change either!
People keep doing the same thing over and over
expecting a different result! The exact definition of
insanity! Truly this senseless tragedy is a form
of insanity in a civilized world!
I wanted to try some different features like this bulbous nose!
Last week a baby born a few months too
early at a pound and a half died. Cupcake
grew up with the father since kindergarten
 These natural devastating circumstances
are difficult enough to  cope with.
I knew this man as a sweet little boy.....
I partied and laughed with his mom, saw
her daily at school drop off and pick up!
I went to their trailer on the lake, and drove
on the back  of his dads snowmobile during
an epic snow storm. We've all gone in different
directions now but my heart still  broke for
him and his family!
Tuesday Beardo found out a man who visited him
regularly at work for years  passed away last month.
The sweet father like figure and his wife even
showed up at one of Beardos concerts. Something
his own parents have never done! He adored
Beardo and the feeling was mutual. Last night
we watched Gords beautiful memorial video
at separate times. We both went into the ugly
cry on separate floors!! I only met the man
and his wife once but he reminded me of
my dad. I was so happy this good
man has such an affinity for my dear
son in law!! He'll be missed.
Then yesterday we found out Cupcakes dad
was in a car accident in another Country.
Thankfully he is okay. He was shook
up and sore! His wife was hurt but should
be okay. That's a blessing since the phone
call could have been a whole lot different.
I'm sure they are still in shock, we're
so grateful the news wasn't worse,
considering the tone of this week!
There is a housing crisis in our area
and renters are becoming needlessly
homeless. It is scary for the average
person, especially single moms
which I have a real heart for!
One of the tent cities has a virus
outbreak....
Truly time  for me to absorb
a great Netflix marathon
and count my blessings!!
I'm so grateful that Cupcake takes so
many photos and shares them ALL
with me!! All the outdoor photos
are credited to her!
I'm daily grateful that my kids tote
anything I need up and downstairs
for me since it's difficult to carry
things with a cane!
I'm grateful to see my daughter
in that beautiful long red sweater
which I too would own if it was
in my size!!
I'm always grateful to live in Canada,
where I have clean water and a beautiful
roof over my head! There are a million
more things I am grateful for daily...
being alive right now is a really good one!!
In the past few weeks Beardo has won
two sets of really expensive concert
tickets which I'm really grateful for!
 As a happy tiler...which I am.....
I'm always grateful for scrabble games
and painting to take my mind away
from such sadness!!

Tell me something HAPPY about your week!!

Sorry I didn't get to all the blogs last week
but I promise to catch up!!

Yes, the world gave us a sad week again, so many evil people out there. I had nice visits from friends to cheer me this week, so that was great. Happy PPF, hugs, Valerie

so good and so sad to her your words and see your art again. What happy thing can I say but that after being away from on-line friends in far off places for so long, it gives me joy to see their art and hear their voices. Art really does help. It makes me feel settled and accomplished. Have a good week. Oh, I love your Halloween header .

I know how you feel, what is happening to the world? Someone told me last week that the only way we're going to make the world a better place is to get to know each other, and learn other people's stories — and that art is a beautiful way to put your stories out into the world.

A sad week indeed. We've had our fair share of that sort of thing over here and watching the news bulletins about this tragedy brought some of those back to mind. Great artwork, Giggles. Art is our resting place.

I'm with you. What a week. I don't get why some people still think guns are a good idea. It was a concert for goodness sake. A supposedly fun thing. BUT The good news is I have some extra time before worth this morning so I can visit your blog. I haven't been by in a while but am glad to stop back. That's a great Halloween header. :) HUgs-Erika

Your artwork is lovely Dear Giggles, and it is good to be able to escape into it isn't it. Yes, life can be so sad at times, no getting away from that - you and yours have had a full week of it... and, yes, with everything else ongoing as it does, well, what can one say, except to send cheering and warm thoughts to each other.

Hmmm ... tell you something happy about my week? - well, last night I was standing by the chook (chicken) house door, making sure they all settled for the night without picking on the newest addition to the flock. They were clucking and grizzling at little chicken and in the end I'd had enough and told them to "shhhhhh" "shhhhhhh" - to my astonishment they all went quiet, sunk down onto their perches and stayed still!! Lol, I tried it again tonight and it worked!! Yay!

Have a really beaut week ahead, Sue xx

Happy to be catching up with you again, but so sorry for all your losses and sadness. Good to get it out though. Yes, your faces look very pensive and serious this week but are unique and vibrant at the same time.
I want Cupcake's sweater!!! She looks darling in it amongst the sunflowers.
What has made my week so happy is the return of summer like weather-sun and warmth all week long, and I can still wear my flip flops:) Wishing you well, and happy PPF!

Yes, it has been a sad week, it seems as if there is a tragic event nearly every week! Art is so good to escape into. Your art is wonderful even if sad. The sunflowers are stunning.
My week? Well, i had several visits from people I haven't seen in a while, so great to catch up! Hope the next week brings better cheer to you and yours, sending hugs.

Not doing PPF this week but I wanted to add my happy thing for the week. My daughter from Houston spent the week with me and we had some good times together. I saw her last year in October and before that it was at her father's funeral 2013 in October. October is the family birthday month.

As long as there are people on earth, there will be hearts of evil with actions performed. The thing to do, which I find very hard, is not to be afraid and to live each day as if it were your last.

I think a lot of us are feeling sad lately. Its so hard to deal with our own issues with family and friends, and then to add to all that, the tragedies all happening at once. It can be overwhelming and I feel as you do. Big hugs to you my friend and thank you for sharing your feelings. Rasz

oh Sherrie, your faces really do look so sad this week. I'm happy for the sunflowers in between and the happy faces of Cupcake and Beardo. Yes, it seems like the world is going insane lately. Thinking of the future of my children really scares me at times. On a happy note: I drew a lot this week and it made me feel good. Art heals ... Hugs xxx

Beautifully expressive faces. The happiest thing for me this week was a delivery of 2 tray palettes to store my pan pastels and make it easier to see all the colours at one go. And playing with my cat!! Hope you have a happier time next week.

Good for you for channelling through your art.
I've had a down September, with a crisis coming to a head last week. We think we are on top of it, but having my middle child fly back here for the long weekend. I just don't know. It's only money!!!
There are times I just have to turn the news off. It's crazy. Next week is a new week. Take care.

Even though you've had a week of sadness, being able to express it through your painted faces and show their expressiveness is a blessing. I'm on holidays.. that's a good week :) Have a happier Paint Party rest of the week

Your art looks so happy, even you tell from sad times you have! I am in france on holiday and don´t follow the news. So I don´t know excactly what you are writing about! Anyways its is a crazy world we are living in and the only choice we have is change our own little inviroment, our own choices everyday! I think we can change the world from the peace within us that will spread the world! I can´t put that in words, haha but maybe you get it! Hope the sadness is gone and your sweet funny spirit takes place again! Hugs ♥ Conny http://piaromsartjournaling.blogspot.de
