Discombobulated

Discombobulated is what I have felt going into this New Year! It didn't help that I held onto a very nasty virus for the last sixteen or so days!!

Last year I didn't use a word to start off my year. It made 2017 a bit  too scattered for me! My children accomplished a lot on my behalf...but looking back I feel my art suffered a bit. It was an odd year, but I came out a winner with a newly painted room and bedroom suite... which I spend far to much time in lately!!
Even though I am surrounded by so much love and kindness I have so many mixed emotions around the state of the world these days! The declining  ethics really disturbs me!  I feel like there is a huge magnifying glass over all of society, still so many aren't getting the picture!!

I have been creative behind the scenes but had a few weeks where I just put colour to the page in a first layer!  I'm sharing a few pages today!! I also covered up my old lap desk because it was so full of paint!!  Some of the old lines are  still showing through!!
As I am starting to recover from my virus....last night being my best night sleep in weeks. I am pondering what direction I need to go for this year.... I am sort of leaning towards the word " Compile".

Last year I didn't have a word to start my year! I think the word " FOCUS"  was my best word of the year in the past!   Even with no word I think  I found my canvas style last year, which I have yet to share. It's all about abstract colour!! I was all over the place though!  This year I need to compile some of my better writing and art together for a full  body of work! I also need to write down some of these deep seeded feelings that are festering in the wings!!
For now I will be around to catch up on your blogs! Just know even though I didn't know what to say or share in the last few weeks  I have missed you all. I will answer the neglected emails too!! Thanks for your support and Happy New Year to all of you! I hope you haven't started off as discombobulated as I have!!

What are your big plans this year?
Anything fun or interesting creatively or otherwise?
Tell me!!

I have missed you . Sorry to hear you have been sick for so long; I heard that this virus is a nasty one! Loving your pink and orange teacup header. And of course your vibrant art always makes me happy. Your painted lap desk is fab too- I love the symbolism of a bird with the girl. Wishing you healthy, happy, creative days ahead. Happy PPF!

I'm glad you have won the bad virus and are on line again 👍 I love your fabulous floral paintings and your "selfie" and wish your new year is healthy and full of love.
Thank you very much for your interest on my blog and for nice comments of my works. I don't have special plans for this year, only hope that can keep my health and maybe learn something useful.
Wishing you happy PPF and weekend 💕

Great color in your post today. Happy the virus is leaving you and wish you a happy, healthy 2018 filled with meaningful compilations. Don't let the sorry state of our world eat into your health and happiness. Each generation has it's challenges and they just seem to get more complicated. Our obligation, I think, is to our maker and ourselves to make the most of this amazing life we have been given. We can't change people or governments. We can only make ourselves miserable or happy. It is our choice. Happy PPF

I'm glad you are feeling better. Viruses are Bad, Bad, Bad.
Your art here is so colourful and full of life. I hope that will be you again very soon.
I'm loving these abstract flowery designs, such good fun and cheerful, and your header too with the cups - nice to have a change of header, you've inspired me to do the same.
There is a lot of goodness in the world like my friend who this weekend is driving many miles to pick up a disabled friend and take her to an art exhibition many more miles away, then do all the same journey on the way back. That is pure goodness.
Happy New Year, Giggles. Hope it is a good one.

Well, I hope that the year will only get better in terms of health dear Sherrie. Your art will follow! I had to look up discombobulated 'cause I had no idea what it meant ;-) I have never had a word to start off my year, but I noticed that I seem to be more organised and less scattered when I take some time in the beginning of the year to write down some intentions I have art wise. You reminded me that I still need to do that! Have a happy virus-free weekend!

So sorry to hear you've been sick, and for so long, how dreadful! But I am very happy to see all the colorful flowers! So cheerful to remind us that Spring will be coming, and lots of excellent women will be taking office soon. And we will all recover. ;)

"discombobulated"? Hard word to understand. Did not ever found a traslation of it. But I figure it is sonething like confused :)
Beeing sick over the holidays is not fun. At all.

I agree with you about the state of the world. The world is sick!

Glad YOU are better now. :)

Hope you feel better soon and less discombobulated (love that word, use it often!)

I also am feeling discombobulated, Sherrie. I love the response you got from Susan and Sheila77. Since my watercolor class closed for the holidays and my mixed media class has dried up entirely, and I am busy trying to get stuff tossed in order to sell the house, I have done zero art in weeks. My dining room that I made into an art room has to be a dining room in order to show the house! Of course, I could just stick to watercolors and do that in front of the TV in the den! Happy New Year and here's to good health all around. And as Miss Congeniality said: I really want world peace.

Focus is a good word. It might be mine too for this year. I love the girl in the hat with the birdie. I hope you are feeling better now! Best wishes.

First of all, get well and better soon! Second a HAPPY NEW YEAR to you! It's always great to read your texts as I often feel similar like you.
For my part I thought the reason might probably be my age. I am 52 and a lot of things have changed significanty since I was young and sometimes I really wonder how long our world can stand the madness. Maybe I better wonder how long I can hold on to this madness ;)
But anyway, the art you created looks fantastic and I love it and if this is the outcome of beeing discombobulated, then it has been worth it.

You poor thing!
My daughter has flu. You feel so badly for people. This is the first winter I have NOT had bronchitis!
I have no concrete goals or plans. Maybe a trip out west to see a new grandie. We shall see.
I love your pieces. Beauteous!
