Today, Poetry Thursday, it’s raining thank goodness! As I drove along a country road I couldn’t help but notice how perky everything is! A reprieve from the heat makes me so happy! Hopes of a decent sleep, maybe even a slight burst of energy! The trees are pleased, the flowers are delighted, the grass is thrilled, and I bet the firemen are elated too! Heat Lull
Perked up
Little soldiers
Standing at attention
Green blades dance
In celebration
Savoring
Droplets of moisture
Petals smile in color
Rousing limbs
Sway in ecstasy
Grappling boughs
Carriage sustenance
Parched saplings
Sing in the wind
Songs of revival

We had the first rain here in ages and my small grass plot has lost its crackle. Yippee. I'll quit dreaming flames for a bit! Nice poem and image.
