Sunday Scribblings " Ask"

Sunday Scribblings " Ask"

Questions

Boisterous soul

Overshadowing

The hidden artist

What did you fear?

Tender heart

Loitered too long

Mired in a toxic marriage

Why did you endure it?

Obese athlete

Ensconced in protection

Of a weighty body

Why are you shielded?

Unhappy man

Plagued by guilt

Embroiled in putrid employment

What would motivate a change?

Callused father

Undemonstrative

What imprisons you,

from your child's love?

Suffering martyr

Over taxed

Under appreciated

What’s the real payoff?

Hunters, war mongers

Compelled to act

Do you ever carry guilt,

from your nefarious actions?

Hefty male

Comforted by bulimia

Why are you blinded

To your true value?

Deadbeat dads

Abandoning your children

Can you even fathom,

the generations you’ve impaired?

Children with cancer

Hungry or Disabled

Why must they suffer?

WHY, WHY, WHY?

Well written. I have pondered your questions as well....

great verse full of lots of very weighty questions and sadnesses, all caused by imperfect people in an imperfect world --- where have all the love and joy and kindness found to hide - we really need them back!!!

From here there are:Questions about fearing artistic expression, enduring love/hate relationships and always questions about suffering children.

Your poem was great, but your last stanza really got me! Good job.

I really love how you asked questions from many different scenarios. knowing you as well as I do, I was able to pick up on many verses, knowing of who you're referring to. this made your words ever more moving.

This poem resonates with empathy and compassion. You moved me to tears today. Thank you for making walk around in another man's shoes.

That is SO good. It sounded quite personal in places - I assume it was so. I missed out on SS this week - my daughter's wedding took priority!

You make us look within ourselves to question the things you put in words and we feel in our hearts.

I was going to tag you for a meme, but then I saw that Queenie already tagged you. Go figure!
