Sunday Scribblings "Strange Twists"

It's rare to see this man with his hair out of a pony tail!

Sunday Scribblings Prompt this week is " Strange"

An employee working with Bryan answered the phone. A man on the other end suggested he was a relative of Bryan's wanting to rent music equipment from him specifically. Bryan wracked his brain. It wasn’t a name he recognized. Certainly not a Dutch name. He called the fellow back to learn it was a brother-in-law of his eldest brother. With nine siblings it can be hard to keep track of the extended relations.

Touring with a tribute band the man needed equipment for some local shows. Bryan chatted with the fellow, sorting out specifics. They got on well, Bill offered to get Bryan and Pepper tickets to their sold out show. Opting to have him stand back stage if need be. The tribute band included some of the late greats.

The kid’s music spectrum goes beyond what most young people like, delving way back to the old country, folk and blues, all the way to present day rap and punk. They’ve attended concerts of The Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Willy Nelson, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Dr. Hook to name a few! As well as many hip new artists they follow. Bill had no idea that Johnny Cash is Bryan’s idol, until Pepper informed him the night of the performance.

We dropped the kids at the theatre. Elderly people, some hobbling across the road with walkers wandered in along with these two young people. At the door the tickets were waiting, so they waved me off. This is the closest Bryan would get to seeing his deceased idol perform. He beamed from ear to ear watching the simulated vintage show, a tribute to revered icons, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis.

What are the odds that Bryan would meet this particular tribute band, signed under the same label as his idol? Life can take some strange twists. To be honest, it's not a show I'd care to see!

The last statement you make is interesting, just wondering If I would like to see the show my life puts on, and I guess my answer would be yes :)
