Paint Party Friday, Perk the Purple Prince and a Painted Chair

Today is Paint Party Friday #18!
Make sure to visit all the wonderful artists and join in yourself!

This week I have been slightly discombobulated with my sleep. Painting when I can! I promised to show you the Brother to Bubbles, Meet Perk my Purple Prince! Also banished to the garage because of my families disdain! Again, they say he's scary.
I've continued to work on my chair which is a way bigger task than anticipated! The original  plans for the four chairs were pretty cool,  but I can't find the sketches done a few years ago! So I will be winging it!

I started painting what I could remember of my original plan. But the chair took on a  life of it's own. What started out quite contrived was painted over, for a new direction.  Even I'm surprised at the process and the outcome.   Can't wait to see the finished product! I still have the front rungs to contend with,  Second coats on the bottom and more tweaking! Then many coats of varnish!
I had some stripes and polka-dots on the bottom rungs, Darling daughter complained that it was boring and not really me! I laughed knowing it wasn't complete. But she was right, it was just way too planned out! I'm a  spontaneous person, and so is my art! If nothing else, people will smile at my eccentric chairs! I've always been bold with color, no point in stopping now! Happy Paint Party Friday everyone!

I'd really love to know what exactly makes bubbles and his brother scary. Eyes? mouth? I think they are both delightful.

i think the painting would look great in a child's room, as would the chair.

Hi Giggle! I love your poochie doggie. Don't put him in the garage, he should be seen. As for the chairs, I think they will go perfect where ever you put them. If I paint mine as I said I was going to, they will stay with my dining room table. The more color, the better. Excellent chairs. Happy PPF!

Your chairs are great but my heart goes to the Purple Prince and when I called in my consultant, 5 yr old Reese she loved him also and wanted to see more so we explored and she said she loved everything! Thanks!

Oh no, not banished to the garage again! Poor you! I think this little fella is just cheeky - bit of glint of mischief in his eye, don't you think? I kind of like that your paintings have an 'edge' to them, now that I'm seeing more. I wonder what they look like all in a row. Do you think they come alive at night and climb off the canvas to run around your garage causing mayhem?

Cartwheels - that is what your work makes me want to do...mad cartwheels all over the place! I love the way you splash colors around..just looking at your pieces makes me want to celebrate every moment....love that! Perk rocks I think he's a scream and the chair - well, I LOVE that the process just sort of had its way with you...this is what needed to come to life and it's so darn good.
