Summer of color 2012 Strawberry Lemonade Punch

Summer of color this week is strawberry Lemonade punch.
I may have the punch part right!!

My contributions were done late this week, consequently some news,
not necessarily pertaining to me actually affected my characters!!

 Moody
I  see a cuter character in the messy page now...darn it!!
Oh well next time I guess!!

Jonzee
Usually a very peaceful person I like happy things! Even at Halloween I choose the happy funny little ghosts and witches over the  scary skulls, and bones! So when one dog  appeared quite angry in my art this week I was shocked, but understood it could be  related to a loved ones life rather than mine! Even Jonzee seems a bit rough around the edges for me! At least he seems happy...or is he?
 Kelp
With out realizing it I am actually  art journalling about others through my characters!
Kelp seems a bit skeptical... what do you think? At least he's cute in an anteater kind of way!! What's with all the males any how? Hmmm .... more to ponder......
These guys may be a bit redundant every week but I must continue to heed my muse, as these characters reveal themselves!  No doubt they will wane soon and I'll be onto something completely different!

How about you do you find characters appear that are unusual for your personality?  I even hesitate to post Moody  because he looks mean and vicious some colors make him seem more evil than others!

Check out the flickr site full of yummy art! You're sure to find more upbeat characters there than mine  this week!!

I agree that the muse must be obeyed! If she's this is what to paint, then that is what you paint. I have "darker" feelings in my journal some times and my art journal is a way for me to process those feelings. That is why my art is so important to me-it helps me heal, helps me understand, and acknowledge my emotions in a safe way.

What great little characters - I used to have a Spaniel that smiled when she panted - just like the 4th pic down (Jonzee)! Great fun!

I probably should not admit to this... but I think I am Moody today! Love how you see characters emerge from the background. You have quite the creative eye!

Yes, I agree, when I just let my sub-conscious take over and doodle I'm often surprised at what emerges. I always love what emerges from your backgrounds.

As always, I LOVE the way the mood of these changes depending on the colors you've applied- AWEsome! And I think that yes, they do seem angry, but mostly in an extremely protective manner- at least that's how it reads to me!

OK, I love them all, but especially Kelp. He "knows" things, I can just tell. Fun method you use and I like seeing the different characters. - Obey the Muse!

I like Kelp. He looks like a soppy sort of dog that just wants to play. Not too sure about Moody... He looks like he's just spotted the postman strolling nonchalently up the garden path!

I very much like your colorful paintings1 And I love that you let the canvas tell you want it wants you to paint-very cool I think.

Moody does look a bit ... well ... moody. But if he's on the page, well, then you can't ignore him I guess ;-) I love Kelp. Looks very smug.

Each pup has such character! I think Moody looks more exhausted than mean, like he's panting after a long play session. Great use of color.
