Pleasant Weekend

Disappointed when they realized the KT Tunstall concert tickets bought months in advance conflicted with mothers day the kids took us moms for dinner Saturday instead! Fine with me, it wasn't near as busy then!

My Princess had quite a precise order, a few changes in the mix. Bryan ordered straight off the menu, no changes. It came to me, surprise surprise, I too had some specifics to my order. Bryan's mom ordered, exact as the menu stated! Mom with ten kids unsure at first what to order, versus mother of one who's exact in what she wants! With a princessy daughter who also knows exactly what she wants, always seems to get what she wants, and for a good price too!

Embarrassed that we wanted so many specifics, I kibitzed with the waiter about the differences between a mother of ten and a mother of one. Pepper assured him she tipped well! We had tons of laughs, and a very pleasant evening. I think I even won over the waiter. I am one of the lucky ones, who is treated with respect everyday!

Sunday I played a few online games of scrabble, had a nice bath while the kids made a roast infused with garlic, mashed potatoes, and a mango salad. I finished it off by making the gravy, and cutting up the meat! We made strawberry margaritas and a friend came for dinner! The kids left at six and we had a marvelous evening chatting! It was my favorite kind of day!

Oh, what a beautiful day! I couldn't agree with you more. We almost always go to the same places and get hugs from everyone but the cooks. They can't touch you! It can't be because they're sterile. Aren't we the most blessed of women? I'd hate to think Who I'd be without having our children.

Mothers day sounds like the perfect day Sher!
I agree that wanting specifically what you want and making changes CAN be done in a friendly, fun way. No one minds helping a Nice person, BUT those people that kvetch and demand things better watch out for spit in their soup! haha
Mentioning SCRABBLE, reminded me that I USED to mess with that and try to find you! I TOTALLY forgot about that! what was the site I used to go to??? Help me Im melting (into menopause!)

Glad you had a great mothers day celebration, but also were able to enjoy some quiet conversation too. Being a parent of no one I never would have made the correlation of having the time to decide exactly what you want, but now that I think about it how true. I also love that you and your daughter are "princessess" who know, and expect to get, what you want. That's the way to live.
