Bright new Promise!

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend!

My last post was so doom and gloom that I wanted to compensate with a little visual humor on my blog. I started this image which turned into a new header. Although it's rather bright. That's putting mildly, I thought it was kind of humorous play on words, having a little character named "Promise" chasing you around nagging, " there's promise on the horizon!" Okay, maybe not! But I have faith that there is New bright promise on the horizon.....but you may have to wait for November or December for me to prove it!

Easter is my time of renewal. You may have noticed I usually need a few renewals during the year to get a move on! Pepper had a business meeting yesterday. So Bryan and I went to lunch, then on a search of organizing cabinets for our garage. Bryan is going to paint, put in a work bench and do a much needed purge of old crap! We can't wait until it's completed. I'll post a play by play as we go!! If I dare to air my dirty linen!

Not much hoopla over Easter around here this year. No bunny cookies, or chocolate eggs, or special gifts like usual.Less mess too!! Instead, it was a chocolate cake, box of our favorite chocolate coated caramels to share, and a couple of new cds we can all enjoy! Still it was a lovely weekend. We didn't have the traditional Easter dinner, we had our turkey last weekend when my brother was over, instead our dear friends who lost two disabled children within two years came for dinner Saturday night. My daughter, Bryan and my girlfriend fell asleep while her hubby and I talked until the wee hours of the morning. Brought back memories of our youth, when it was a regular occurrence, along with cards and video game competitions where I was Queen of Doctor Mario!

Sounds like you had a wonderful Easter....spent with friends and family. The best kind.

I like the new banner....both the message and the drawing.

When Bryan gets finished with your garage could you send him over my way! I could sure use some organization in my garage....it's a no man's land in there!!

I just got back into town after a visit with my mother and read your most recents posts. The poem in the last one is very, very powerful, and I could identify with more of the words than I care to admit to myself. Sadly, it all needed to be said. I love the quote in today's post. Your spirit is so beautiful and, no doubt your experiences molded your naturally strong character into the the positive, amazing person person that you are. Thank you for all your writings; you inspire me.

Love,
Alberta

Oh, my god, I used to be so addicted to Dr. Mario! It was my daughter's game and I'd wait for her to leave for school and play it all day!

Great post and I followed your links and read about your friends who lost two kids. So sad but your words were beautiful!

Hi Sherri, sounds like you had a nice relaxing Easter. I just emailed you and not sure if it went to you or not. Can you let me know if it doesn't? Thanks. Hope you have a beautiful day.

Glad you had such a happy Easter weekend - family and friends are the best ingredients for celebrating! Easter sounds like the perfect time to refresh, renew and refill the well...
I need to refresh a lot of stuff around here, myself - can I get in line behind Janet, and borrow Bryan's help? :-) Happy Springtime Sherrie!

I'm so late getting around, I told you all that jigsaw puzzles could be my down fall.

But I'm out and about now, so life is getting better.

easter sounds nice! great to break tradition sometimes and just enjoy kicking back. I trust you to know that there IS hope on the horizon.. I needed to hear it from my sage soul sister..now I believe it!
Your header is never too bright for me and I love the messages you always convey! Everyone should have a little bit of sherrie in their world! xox
