Paint Party Friday Taken over!

Halloween Henry

Happy Paint Party Friday everyone!! I have been so unproductive this week...my creative mojo has taken a break and all that appeared were a few boring characters!!  Sorry bout that!!

Hank  and Lavender
Interested in human nature I just love reading peoples comments and learning more about them!! It's such a joy to me!  Thanks for sharing, I appreciate all of you so much!!

When my daughter was a teen often times we had PMS at the same time... sometimes I had it twice a month being peri menapausal... I did my own thing...then hopped on board to ride along with her too!! If you get my drift.

One day my daughter was putting her clothes away, I came in her room ranting that her drawers were such and mess and why are they such a mess!! Seriously folks I never gave a dam what the inside of drawer looked in my life!! Not that I didn't keep them neat at times, because I do, I just don't care if I can't see it!!
Casey and Carmen
I didn't put her clothes away and I could care less!! So why was this kooky woman in her room ranting about her drawers when the whole room was spotless and tidy as could be!! I stopped in my tracks. At forty five years old I  stood in the doorway of her room and  had what one might call an epiphany....OH MY GOD.....I had turned into MY MOTHER....AHHHHH!!! Kill me now I thought!! I then burst into laughter...who was that wicked witch reprimanding the one she loved most in the world, over some stupid friggin drawer!! It wasn't even me in that body....I was having an out of body experience...or should I say out of my mind experience!! But hey that's how crazy PMS can be....I apologized for my lapse in sanity.... Explaining that even I didn't recognize myself. I still laugh about that moment...thankfully it was only once. I have better control of that monster now!! But it was an awakening...so if you ever hear your mother taking over your mind and body, and her words trail out of your mouth hole for no good reason....make sure you apologize... because you sure don't want your kids to mistakenly think that's the REAL YOU and carry those memories for the rest of their life!!! Just admit you had a lapse in judgement, that crazy came to visit but you refused to let it stay and you are very very sorry!! I did!!

I so love coming to your blog I always know that there will be some pearl of wisdom and some wonderful colours and art work! I only too well remember when like you I had an awful realisation I was turning into my mother, I still laugh at it. My sister does too because she was on the receiving end of my tirade. Am coreect in thinking you have changed your header. If so I love it.

cute art this week! PMS does strange things, lol. I'm dealing with menopausal symptoms even though I had a hysterectomy!

I love the colors you are using here... the combinations! Very cool. As for the apologies... I've definitely done my share over the years. It really ends up strengthening the relationships as the kids/teenagers know that you respect them. Respect becomes mutual then. Thanks for sharing this story... not always easy to share "less than stellar" moments. :)

I absolutely adore your new header painting! This week's work is awesome too. I had to chuckle a bit about PMS... thank goodness it passes would hate to get stuck there. Happy PPF

Thank you for sharing this post, it certainly made me smile..........I thought we naturally changed into our mothers but with our own personality.... Loving your paintings, they are certainly NOT boring. Happy PPF, Annette x

Ha! That was so much fun to read. I am in the beginning phases of peri menopause and feel like I'm entering my teenage years again. And then PMS once a month - I just talked about that with a friend - how it seems some wild beast enters our bodies for a day or two. I always apologize to Daniel in advance and usually I can control myself since I know what happens... ;-) Oh, the joys of being a woman! And I love your art in this post! Very fun!! Hugs, Silke

That's so funny! I've done that but it wasn't my mother I was turning into, it was my grandmother. I immediately stopped....my kids will thank me when they are older. :) Great paintings, love them! HPPF!

I love your Halloween makeover. Funny post...I, too, have these insane moments. Mostly it's about the kids not picking up their room and for some reason I always get most annoyed at them right at bedtime. It's not like I am going to make them stay up late to clean up. And do I really want to be annoyed when I kiss them goodnight? I need to work on my timing. And the last confession is...that I can't blame PMS...it's just my own kooky self.

Love the art. Is hank about to propose to Lavender? And there is definitely something happening that Casey and Carmen are a bit worried about. Your paintings always tell me stories. And the new banner is so bright and welcoming.
Really love your post as always and identify with it, but my mum was never PMS witchy, so I was glad to find I was turning into her, and now my younger daughter says she has turned into me - but is glad to do so.
Life is strange.

I think we can all so relate to this...I definitely can, I'm practicing yoga positions and taking evening primrose oil tablets to help PMS....oh well part of being a wonderful female!
I love your paintings, especially these below, you have such a wonderful style of your own!

LOVE the new header and the quote! And I don't think your characters are boring this week, love Halloween Henry ☺ I'm dreading the moment that my daughter will start menstruating and I will be menopausal... But I think my hubby dreads it even more... Poor him, I can't stand him when I'm PMS-ing. I can't even stand myself. And the worse thing is: while I'm ranting and raving I know I'm being irrational but still I do it ... Have to apologize profusely afterwards ... Oh well, the joys of being a woman ... ☺

Hi Giggles, wish I had had your insight when I was your age. I can certainly relate to what you said about PMS. I think your post today is fantastic. I love the colors of your blog and of your NON-boring characters (especially the delightful Halloween dog). Enjoy the weekend. It's beautiful here today but tomorrow is supposed to be cold.

I love your characters today! colorful and fun...
I cannot blame my aggrivation at my teenaged daughter on my mother, it was ME hating her messy room!
Now, however, when I look in the mirror sometimes I suddenly SEE my mother staring back at me. Now THAT is scary!

PS The new header is devine!

What a great story. I have a daughter, 23 and she has about 50 pair of shoes that most of the time were all over the place, now when she has moved all the way to Florida I kind of miss her shoes as I miss her so much... but how many times I have been nagging about her shoes and why she could not have control over them... Love your paintings :-)

Giggles you're so funny! I tell myself I will not be like my Mom when I am a Mom but seriously I am becoming like her fussing around things and that. Maybe it's a natural thing in women? Dunno. Anyway I love your characters. You got a style. Treasure it. :)

So love the doggy.

Your blog banner is so cute! And Halloween Henry is adorable, his glasses and that pumpkin is great. My mother is actually a lot nicer than I am, so if I find myself being more like her, I should probably tell myself to keep up the good work ;)...

You crack me up! Beautiful, bold colors and post! Love it and thank you for your well wishes for my trip last week - I am just getting back to "normal" ;) xoxo
