Today I give a shout out to bloggers that boldly put themselves out there!
Its a gift to be able to communicate like we do.....some people are absolutely stunted trying to express their feelings in writing or any other way! When we shine a light on our feelings it gives others permission to make changes, connect with like minded souls, at times forgive themselves and feel normal!
I've watched an extended family member unable to hug his grown children....he's like a robot. He doesn't appear to be unfriendly...but he's stiff. You can see his old school demeanor won't allow him to reach out.... it's sad to witness how uncomfortable he is.... but guess what.... my cupcake has breached the boundary and commands a hug from him where his own affectionate children won't dare to!
My own mother was given a grandmothers journal to express her feelings while my dad was dying. She wrote down the weather. That's all. I thought maybe she just chose not to present her feelings on the pages during such a trying time. When in fact she hadn't a clue how to emote all her fiery wisdom on the page!
Never at a loss for words another relative gets harsh anxiety every time he has to write out a card! He spends ages trying to properly convey the depth of his love but is rarely, if ever, satisfied with the results!!
We take for granted our ability to express our feelings to others! Whether demonstratively or on the page. I assumed everyone could write until I shared some prose with a scholar who wished she could write as I did. Given her field of expertise I was shocked that she couldn't. It was then I realized I had a gift! One I have enjoyed my whole life, one I revere even more now, knowing not everyone possesses it!!
So to bloggers who share who they are with a sense of authenticity, thank-you for being real! Sharing your creativity, your heart, your thoughts and feelings! I appreciate all of you who have something genuine to share!!
Have you had difficulty sharing who you are, or what you feel with anyone? And why? Do you ever doubt what you put out there?
This is my contribution to Paint Party Friday with a big thanks to Kristin and Eva for tenaciously hosting such an amazing party that brings together so many like minded souls!!
P.S. I was not happy with my artwork this week...but I bravely plugged through it anyway... now that it's finished I'm at least glad it's colorful.....just sayin.....some weeks are better creatively than others and thank goodness for digital changes!!

Your work always perks me up with all their colors and awesome faces. Very nice Giggles. I know someone like that, stiff as a rock when you go to hug them that it gives you the creeps. I don't think they were ever hugged when young. It's a shame. Have a wonderful weekend and great work. Happy Paint Friday.
Wonderful colours and thoughts again! Valerie
I think it is always hard to put yourself out there for sure. It is certainly a gift to be able to do it! Happy PPF!
Love your first girl. Love them all really! I used to be one of those people who didnt people see my emotions, my faith, art and blogging has really loosened me up. Perhaps as we get older we don't care what people think.
Beautiful and wise thoughts. Thank you. Lovely, cute and colorful owl as well. Have a great PPF!! Big, big hugs to you!
You certainly have a wonderful gift of prose which you convey with such eloquence. Its always a joy to see your art and read your posts:)
your artwork is as vibrant and distinctly you as your wonderful words. I love your posts - yours is one of the most thought proviking blogs I visit - I love that you don't just talk about your artistic technique but you share your life and emotions with us all. I come from a very affectionate huggy family and I still kiss and hug my dad and mum as a middle-aged woman!! I think it's a shame when blood relatives are so stiff and formal with each other. Mind you, I still like my personal space and don't like some folk getting too close to me in that respect. I don't think I have a problem with letting folk know how I feel - my husband and I end every single text message to each other with 'I love you' and we say it umpteen times a day. My only problem is when something is bothering me - I'm not so good with confrontation so I tend to bottle things up that way - all picture no sound as my mum would say!!
So true - some weeks it seems to flow and you like everything you make. Other times everything sucks! Just remember that what you're not happy with others love. I like the mix of paint and digital in the first piece and the choice of colours.
Oh I love this owl piece very much! You do have a great way with words, I love visiting and sharing with you! Blogging has been such fun, especially getting to know all of you out here!
Great words as always and loving your work as ever. Do I have anything worthwhile to share, nope b....r all.
Happy PPF, Annette x

What a fantastic thing ......you have highlighted this problem.
Well said!
I have found that some people are better with the spoken word and others with writing it down.
Such vibrant artwork.
Well done you !

I do love your art this week. I especially like how you do teeth ;-)
well written post again. I do think however that just because you're able to put yourself out there through blogging or art, it doesn't always mean that in "real" life it's the same. I have a friend who writes beautifully about her emotions in a letter or email, but when you see her in person she's much more reserved and aloof. Sometimes it's easier to express your emotions on paper or canvas than to show them to the people around you. But I do feel it's a gift to be able to do that. At least that way you don't keep it bottled up ....
lovely post today on feelings Giggles, and nice art too.
Nobody can write like you Giggles, you are unique, both in your ideas and your ability to express them. I often beat myself up a bit for being rather too ready to hug and express my feelings ... Though it's never too much within family. And your lovely colourful artwork is a joy in life.
As for being bold, I have taken your advice and posted on Paint Party Friday at last, though I really did have to make myself bold - there are so many super-talented artists out there.
Thank you for being Giggles and for sharing your thoughts with us. XXX
This is a beautiful post and a lovely way to let people know to "go for it" I like your art this week. The message in color comes from your heart and it shows through. Here is a hug for you.

I am trying to learn the digital thing-looks very fun! it can be hard to open up. sometimes we have be hurt and cant trust very easily.
take care. great job
Your art work is colorful and bold...I believe it is a reflection of you! you do indeed have a gift for writing...always find thought-provoking topics here along with great images. happy PPF!
Hi Giggles!
Love your post, love your art! Some times it just takes a bit of time until a stiffy warms up to you. LOL! My BIL was like that when we first met, I continued to hug him until he hugged back. Now he's the one to hug me first!
Always enjoy your art and your thoughts!
I love your colorful work this week. I have family members that have a hard time expressing their feelings, and young family members breaking through it as well.
It does take courage to put yourself out there. Thanks for sharing!
It was the 1970s, the Hippie era of Free Love when I taught my parents to hug by reaching out and hugging them.
You know I love to write and that I love to write about feelings. We are one huge school of life this world we live in; and "blogland" allows for making new friends, and sharing in ways some might not do in close to home personal ways.
But I think I do it in both!
I love the gal on top the best today. Her curly hair and winsome smile.
Hugs on PPF dear new friend!
Your art work looks great. That owl is my favorite.Yes, you have a talent in writing. I love to come here every week and read your posts.
Have a wonderful weekend
Susan
What great colors!

Love your thoughts - and boldness! I am totally with you... and totally with Denthe... much easier to express myself to blogging friends on paper... and non-relatives face-to-face, than to relatives period! But I do agree that spontaneous expression through wards/visual art/verbally is a gift. But it can also be learned. However, it takes courage and a risk to be misunderstood...
Colorful and wonderful art! I hadn't thought about it but you are so right about people expressing themselves! Happy PPF!
So lovin' your jeweltone colors for this week, wow!! HPPF!
Fresh and sharp and lovely colors! and digitally drawing I have never tried. You made it beautifully! :)
The thing I love most about blogging is that it makes me put my work and words out there, and that so many others do the same... it is all about community baby and there is nothing as safe and nurturing as a safe place, and that is what the art bloggers are all about I think... I am sure others are as well, but art bloggers make the studio a brighter, less lonely place to be...
thanks for another great post... and yes you do have a gift with words...
T xx
I so look forward to your bright bold art every week and your clever words. Some weeks it's easy to communicate and others I can't get a word out of my pea picken' brain :)
Thanks for posting work you weren't happy with. I think it helps all of us who are learning to see the full range of work and not just the masterpieces. I am grateful for the ability to communicate and to listen. It's hard sometimes to feel comfortable expressing emotion, but it's so much more uncomfortable to not express. I'm grateful we have art to channel our feelings into.
Your bright colours and words of wisdom always make me smile and think a little deeper. Thanks so much.
Hi Giggles,
Loving your digital art in all it's vibrant bold colour.
When you have so many options in colour schemes it seems a waste not to try the same work of art in varying colours; you always end up being surprised on how some really make certain elements of the work stand out.
Great post.My express lane is via art and writing and then vocally : )
Take care,
Annabelle O,O
I love your work this week. Hopefully, when you look at it again with fresh eyes you will see what I see. Your colors are beautiful.
I am finding it easier and easier to write about my feelings and post my paintings on line. The blogging community is so supportive that it makes sharing easy. I have always been able to share with friends but now that my interests have gone in a slightly different direction, I find that it has become harder. Something I think about alot.
I always come here right away on Friday - your words and your artwork bring a smile to my heart! I doubt myself all the time - but try not to let it stop me - life is too short to spend it curled up in fear. I love that lady at the top of the page and as always love all that wonderful color. HPPF
Are you kidding me?? Your art looks as good as always! Ultra cheerful and explosive colors, always fun! :oD
your posts are always thought provoking..I think we all have gifts its just that sometimes they are buried under so much junk that we cant share them..happy ppf and love the bright paintings
You express 'people' so well. I am so impressed with this creativity in your art and your words. Many Blessings, Janet PPF
I look so forward to reading your posts- not only seeing your art -it sings and shouts and yells to me of happiness and glee and love and true ability- you go gal and let's keep communicating. Happy PPF and have a great weekend.
great message to be bold and shine your light. for many years i lived in silence (well, compared to now) holding back myself. i saw it in my family but life is so much fuller and robust communicating. i favor the face in the shine your light page. thanks for visiting this week!
Well I am VERY HAPPY for your vibrant and meaningful art, and for the beautiful way you express your feelings in your posts!!!
Your art is always fun, happy, and bright. And your writing is from the heart...so what more could we ask for!
I'm not good with words but I do enjoy having my blog, and I hope I come across as real and honest. It's what I strive for.
Very intense colors! Love them!
Great post, any way you can express yourself is important! Love your art this week, so quirky and awesome colors!<3
There is such wisdom in everything you say. As artists and bloggers, we are most definitely blessed to be able to express our feelings visually and through words. Blessings to you, my friend!
hooray for this post sherrie! I don't have difficulty expressing my thoughts either. I enjoyed writing cards, letters and thoughtful words of my feelings. I love to express either by physical like hug or words. It feels good and makes the day of anyone. May we express our love more openly. :)
Your boldness (last painting) is one of the many attributes you do so well. And your colours are fun and lively!
Oooh these paintings and colors are wonderful! And your words so true.
Love your Colors and the style - also your words, their are so true. Maybe I dont understand the whole meaning, but writing (living) about (with) emotions is a gift in any time.
Late PPF and hugs
Erika
Great post Giggles, love your pieces. You have a way with words I wish I could have, event though It's easier for me to express my feelings on a paper than to say it or post it on my blog. I'm working on it ;)
Have a great day!
Nora
I was thinking while scrolling through that these are dark. But they still have their vibrant color. :) You just reminded me of my first attempt of a diary in elementary school it was ridiculous. I had no idea what to do with it so I just wrote facts in it. That's why I sometimes need prompts to get me started.
You're not happy with these? I like them all. Especially the owl.
Good for Cupcake! Maybe she will melt him a bit. I have 3 brothers and grown men or not, they'd better tell me they love me at the end of each phone call. I think we just have to teach them what they were, unfortunately, not taught.
Hello Lovely friend..fantastic post ..such vibrancy and harmony..gorgeous art..love the owl so much..very wise and enchanting too!
Haha..I'm a hugger too..and that expressiveness comes easy for me! You are a fabulous writer..thanks for sharing your story!
Always inspiring...
