Fall Lurking and the Journey

Take just a few moments of your day to view these two inspirational clips! You won’t be disappointed! I am such an advocate of Scott Strattons quick flicks! These literally take seconds to watch but often make a huge impact. I hope you enjoy!

Photos taken at an outdoor mall within walking distance of my home
The first sign that fall is lurking! Isn’t it interesting how these bushes turn red without direction! They just seem to know their their life path or course with a little help from their friend the weather! Still they have an impeccable natural rhythm with the season. Do you flow with the seasons as smoothly as the red bush does?
Or are you ambling around day to day, functioning without much thought or feeling? For years I was on the treadmill of life, just going through the motions. Doing what was expected of me. Everything I did was gaged around someone else's needs more than my own! Eventually, after much reflection, piles of self help books, lots of loss I finally found a creative path that really fills me up! Feeling creatively satisfied trickles into other areas of my life. Helping me to gain new insight about myself.
On my journey I asked myself these few questions. Who was I at eight years old, and how does that pertain to my life now? What would I be if I could be anything in the whole wide world? Lastly I wondered how I lost my childhood dreams? Yes it's all a process...and I'm still on a learning Journey!

Altered Purse

Front of the purse painted silver.
I don't think the photo does it justice, in fact it looks like there are strokes and wrinkles where there aren't any.
This is the finished altered black paten leather purse I did for the Purse-onality art show! I printed out one of my original digital illustrations, glued it on the purse then painted over it with acrylics. I softened the face to make it look more vulnerable by adding silver to the eyes. Then sealed it with modge podge. I may do a varnish tonight too!

This it the final stage back of the purse which I struggled with. I still prefer the front and yet the back really does represent who I am!
I started to stamp gold flowers on it in hope that I could improve it, still it was a disaster, so I continued on.
This was the original finished version, but it just didn't bode well with me, it seemed too plain.
The beginning stages, where the face looks hard and angry. My goal was to cover up the lettering and soften up the face.
I wrote a required blurb to accompany the purse!

I’m a passionate Woman in a magnificent romance with art! For years as a type “A” personality I rode the treadmill of life on high speed. Then I crashed! An illness, death, divorce, loads of grief, brought me to a pivotal change of lifestyle. Now, much slower, wiser and way more pensive, I fill my life with words, and newly discovered artistic talents driven by love and the spirit within! In retrospect I know there to be peace after pain! You just have to believe and face it!

The following poem, written and posted last year, was inspired by my digital illustration "Face it"

Just Face It

Just face it, you’re getting old

Embrace it, you’re wiser too

Just face it, time to shed the load

Embrace it, the young spirit in you

Just face it, you’re wearier now

Embrace it, there’s an artist inside

Just face it; you shan’t meet all desires

Embrace it; the new inspiration tide

Just face it, your bond is altered

Embrace it; memories inhabit your heart

Just face it, grief’s finally waned

Embrace it; feelings replaced by art

Just face it, you’re not the same

Embrace it, your generosity is past

Just face it; innovation’s required

Embrace it, creativity will last

Just face it; you may not have partner

Embrace it, peaceful time on your own

Just face it, the sacrifices have merit

Embrace it, prosperity of love known

Sunday Scribblings " Powerful"

In this post I’ve tried to pepper a touch of humor with just one perspective of power as I see it! However feeling powerful is a huge subject that carries many perceptions. This is just a pebble in the scheme of it all! I have felt powerful when I had money, only because it bought me freedom to choose any path and to be as generous, as I love to be!

I’ve felt powerful when I’m creating, when I have peace of mind, and when I was defending the rights of a child. Although I know I can be a powerful woman if need be, only if I feel threatened is it ever an issue. However, being powerless is devastating!
Dancing with Power
Power and money
saunter together
holding hands
Lovers huddle
contemplating
destiny
and preservation
Compelled to
Maintain rank
Bound to reproduce
in a cage of secrecy
rigidly captive
to their
eternal pledge
Dissuading adversaries
And termination

Illustration friday the blues

Illustration Friday

The Blues

Joisted thoughts merge

Caustic words are spewed

Needless angst ensues

A scourge burdens harmony

Chained to the emotional carnage,

toxic repression is concealed.

Hapless expedition into aggravation

The discontented opportunity rogue

with hawk prey intent

tawdry insolence

is a blatant Spirit assassin.

A Catalyst to distress

And the blues

Middle Name Meme

Let your heart soar as high as it will.
Refuse to be average.
--A.W. Tozer

My daughter is in no way average! Starting with her name Pepper, yes it is her given name. I figured if it was good enough for Dr. Pepper Schwartz then it was good enough for my child!
I hope to read Dr. Schwartz's latest book called
" Prime" check it out!
Pepper at Pearson airport, gazing out the window at the beautiful sunset, just about to soar home from Toronto Monday night when she saw a barrage of emergency vehicles racing towards a plane on the tarmac! After inquiring about the Kafuffle she was told the plane had a boo boo! Her estimation is that planes DO NOT HAVE BOO BOO'S!
Previous to that she was caught in an elevator that wasn't moving, claustrophobia set in! She was almost speaking in tongues when the door finally opened giving her relief! The passengers on the elevator seemed notably relieved too!
Settling in for the flight home she endured three hours of turbulence similar to a carnival ride during the five hour flight. Pepper was slightly apprehensive when the plane was delayed so they could change the tires. Oh and the boo boo was on another plane where one of the engines broke down! All this after working twelve hour days! My girl is a trouper going it alone to Toronto not knowing a soul there! She managed one quick power shop during the five days, even then she only found a few things for Bryan.

My middle name is Leesa. The prolific poet Deb from Janepoe tagged me with a meme about middle names!

The object of the middle name game is to list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life for each letter of your middle name. (If you don't have a middle name, use the name you would have liked to have had!)

When you are tagged you need to write your own blog post containing your middle name game facts. At the end of your blog post choose one person for each letter of your middle name to tag.
Loquacious embarrassed to say I can be known to be long winded at times. I probably talk too much. I’m sure there are occasions where people wished I had an off switch. I am working on it. On the flip side I can be a wonderful listener, retaining what is shared!

Eccentric I tend not to walk the beaten path; I am attracted to unusual men, unusual gadgets, unusual theories, and unusual names. Kind of like a crow is to shiny bits, I am to eccentricities! I despise the mundane!

Enlightened, I’m a progressive, liberal, free thinking, open minded tolerant person! A direct result of my spiritual quest and fairly accurate intuition!

S
age I'm told I'm sage, yet rarely feel that way! Friends constantly remind me that I should have been a counselor! People regularly seek me out for advice or direction when feeling emotionally lost.I help where I can.

Adaptable fitting in with many types of personalities and life situations! I’m fairly flexible when it comes to adapting!

Cake and a full moon

We celebrated our nature goddess Connie, with an artistic cake made by Laura. This delectable Angel food was served with semi frozen blackberries picked this year! Isn't it stunning! I heard gasps when she unveiled this masterpiece!
Four of the six of us, now own vintage cake holders to tote our cakes around. It may seem lame to some, be it excites us! Especially when they are so hard to find!
Janice is our youngest goddess at fifteen years my junior!! Oh to be young again!!!! Not really!
I didn’t capture as many useable pictures as I might have liked to! Some of the goddesses were acting more like impish sprites, than divine beings! So I settled to post the least embarrassing picture which just happens to have me in it! Janice sat like a polite little goddess, and didn’t make faces at the camera lady….ME,...... like some .....who will remain nameless did!

The necklace and bracelet I made for Connies Birthday. She mentioned a while back that she's been wearing more pink lately!

We had a lovely catch up chat, food was delicious, but the mood was a bit off. We missed our fairy goddess! She was in our hearts and on our minds struggling with some health issues.

Last nights full moon! Isn't it spectacular!

The night ended a tad earlier than normal, the full moon led the way home, where I continued my night peering in on the bloglandia ball gowns. So many creative women with blogs. We are women hear us roar, in numbers too big to ignore. A deviation from a very vintage Helen Reddy song, which may be more relevant now than ever before!

Finally a venue where more woman can have a voice!
