Meme and a fairy

Beautiful green fairy Pepper picked out for me!
As I clicked the image to enlarge I realized she looks like my daughter
with the big blue eyes and platinum hair. I guess that's the allure!
She's been wanting this expensive cake pan for sometime now. Perfect timing and price. It has wonderful detailing on the sides I can't wait to see the results! I have had my heart shaped pan which is very different than this on for over 30 years and still love it.
Her mothers daughter, she loves hearts as much as I do!

Not everyone likes glass faced dolls, however I really do! I am going to enjoy this little treasure everyday. It brings such a smile to my face and I love her!

Tagged to name seven things you may not know about me.

I have been tagged by: Lavendula Lovliness
to name seven things that you may not know about me.
The rules are to name 7 things you may not know about me, then tag 7 others.

1) I used to play pool, darts, horseshoes, bowl and sing Karaoke

My passion for any of that has waned over the years! Replaced with other interests!

2) I once called the SPCA on a neighbor for leaving his dog tied outside for two

Weeks while he went on holiday…. When confronted, even though my ex warned me not to admit to it….I did. Continuing about my business on my balcony, refusing to look away when he stare me down in a threatening way! Although I saw signs, I had no concrete proof that he was abusing his wife too.

3) Early eighties before my child I had a ballroom dancing affair with a man….no sex, Every Thursday night I went to a pub to ballroom dance. Until he confessed to leaving his girlfriends six year old alone in the house sleeping while he came to the pub! I NEVER SAW HIM AGAIN! I would have reported that too had I more extensive knowledge about him.

4) I used to be a neat freak, but as I age I’m kind of messy. It’s really a state of mind; I refuse to see it anymore, unless I’m having company at which time I panic. Although when I cook I’m pretty tidy!

5) I don’t care to travel…it’s just never appealed to me. I love where I live and I’m quite the homebody. However I do love flying….go figure! If I ever do travel it would be to the UK, Scotland to see where my dad was born. My brother is the same; I guess we take after my dad!

6) My ultimate holiday would be camping in a deluxe Winnebago right on the shore of a lake! Must haves include a laptop, and air mattress for floating on the lake in the sun!

7) I hate to admit I am rather passive aggressive, I listen, ponder, then do my own thing. However I do respect other peoples opinions and ideas and often adhere to them!

Book Meme

I was tagged by the Mimi Lenox the peace globe goddess, actually she's the queen and she has her own castle and everything! Thanks for thinking of me Mimi!

Rules: Pass it on to five other bloggers.
Tell them to open the nearest book to page 46.
Write out the fifth sentence on that page, and also the next two to five sentences.

The closest book, not the coolest, or the one you think will sound the best.
THE CLOSEST.

Acts of Faith by Ivanla Vanzant is sitting arms length with The souls companion on a side table by my computer. The pages have no numbers, so I counted to 46, the date was March 30th post, the very day I started my blog two and a half years ago. Coincidence or synchronicity? Either way there is some good advice in these words!
This is p. 46, sentence five and the following five sentences:

3. Don’t be fooled by appearances

4. Plan prayerfully; prepare purposefully; proceed positively; pursue persistently.

5.Be willing to be wrong

6.Be flexible

7.Do the best you can where you are with what you have

8.Be prepared.

Seems like this is fitting advice to go by during a world of unrest!

Lucy, Queensize, forgetfulone, Gemma, and Rosey please join me in doing this meme!

Why I blog!

Lucy asked me to write about 5 specific ways blogging has affected me either positively or negatively.

I’m sure I did this one already. But because I’m a Gemini I’m sure my other twin self wouldn’t mind participating! Please join me in doing this meme, I'm always interested in reading the answers!

1 Blogging reintroduced me to a childhood passion of writing regularly. I wrote a lot of poetry as a kid. A teacher asked me to write and perform a song for Beowulf my high school Play. I couldn't even remember the words or tune if I tried.

2. I have accumulated a large body of poetry, and more writing discipline since blogging. Editing can be an embarrassment If I write late at night. I'm mortified the next day to see all the blatant mistakes. Surprisingly it doesn’t chase people away!

3.My mind is forced to expand as I search for different things to post. I have no interest or time to be drawn into petty dalliances. Instead I’m always looking for authenticity, intimacy, creativity, spirit, humor, substance and fun!

4 I look forward to blogging, enjoy the mystery of it too! Never knowing where it’s headed! Friends with blogs inspire me, support me, and I feel like I know them because many posts are extremely intimate. It’s taken me down a wider creative path, introduced me to so many like minded individuals. I can’t even imagine my life without it!

5 The negatives could be turned into positives. I’ve had to learn some HTML, the positive is,,,,I have learned some HTML and other types of formatting, which can take hours and hours out of your life. I think I AM getting to be a computer nerd. It's filled a void during times when I have been physically restricted. Like Lucy, my housework suffers… I look at it this way, if you die at least you have left something of yourself to read…who cares if your house is perfect! I’ve been there and done that for YEARS AND YEARS LIKE A CRAZY PERSON! Now I am a computer nerd…who really cares! Besides there are three adults living in this house, if we all do a bit… then it gets done!

Sunday Scribblings Invitation

For Sunday Scribblings this week prompt is invitations. So I invite you to join in this meme found on Mimi's blog! Please let me know if you play along.

1. Think of all your exes. Would you take any of them back?
Nope, except for a boyfriend I had at when I was eleven. A year younger than me he was a mature sweet young man, later when I was married I met up with him, the chemistry was still there! The rest I’ll leave to your imagination!

2. What was the first car you drove? What happened to it?
I drove a red Plymouth cricket for five years until it died, never to be driven again!
It was two thousand, two hundred dollars brand new; I had it before my license and the worst investment we ever made as a married couple.

3. What’s the longest amount of time you have driven a car non-stop?
A few hours, on a four hour stint to Cache Creek I need to stop along the way, and enjoy the trip. My dad was the same and would always stop several times on a road trip. So enjoyable!

4. Have you ever been stood up on a date? If yes, when?
Who me! Who was married almost my whole life and then swore off dating!
What do you think? Bows head sheepishly!

5. What TV network do you watch the most?
Television frustrates me as of late…the last four years. You get emotionally attached to a show and they rip it out from under you! The episodes are way too short with too many commercials. You look forward to watching and they play a damn rerun!! rrrr. I like CNN, Public Television, and local station. I never pay attention to one network over the other! I like HGTV, SLICE too!

6. Pick out a song you like that has special meaning to you. Share with us what song is it, and what’s the meaning to you. This is the hardest question of all, because I love such a huge variety of music. Outside of the fact that "Imagine" is my favorite song of all time. “ Donkey Serenade" was a song my dad sang to me, and we sang together my whole childhood. I loved his voice and that song, it’s very old and not many probably know it! My daughters boss took us on a Limo party and surprised me by playing that song! It was so special!

7. Who was your first celebrity crush on?
This is an odd one, I asked my dad at ten if it was okay to think Herschel Bernardi thirty three years older than me was sexy. In turn, dad said to me “each to their own said the man as he kissed the cow” A Scottish saying affirming that everyone has their own taste!
He was my first crush! Other than him I have never been star struck!

8. What is your favorite romantic comedy movie?
As Good as it Gets, Moonstruck, Pretty Woman and There’s Something about Mary ….don’t make me pick, but it’s in that order! The first three I could watch over and over again….along with “Maid in Manhattan.” The last one changed my life because I laughed so hard…. I need to be in the mood to watch that one though!

9. It has been said, "First Loves Are Never Over." Is this true for you? Yes I think my first love was pretty special.I was a pretty fickle girl back then but I still think of him at 52 and wonder how his life turned out.

Flower and a Meme

This is one of the two paintings I've done on the Canvas a woman in the fabric store gave me. I need honest opinions please......I didn't plan for it to look seasonal...but when I finished , I realized it looks a bit Christmasy! I have another flower that isn't, so just let me know how you see it! She gave me carte Blanche, I need to varnish the piece, then I'll give her a choice. I think she plans on embellishing it with stitching and sewing it into a pillow! The background shows up slightly pinker in person.

This one is all about shopping meme.....please join in then let me know!

I'm not a shopping Goddess like I was in the past. Instead I fill my time with creativity. It's frustrating to shop on a budget when you're being lured in by pretty things. Especially when your bank account is say " Back off " you should pay your bills!

1. Where is your favorite place to shop? Winners (in Canada) because they have awesome quality products for a good price, Shoppers drug mart because they have the accumulated point system. Right now I have seventy five dollars in points that I can spend on items. Last year Pepper spent one hundred fifty dollars in point and got a free radio, cd player for her bedroom. Of course I love all the art stores and Michaels, even though I find it overwhelming because there are so many art products I know nothing about!

2. Would you rather shop on-line or in the stores? I haven’t bought anything on line yet, I think I may like it though. There are real deals to be had, and now that I have successfully received art from a few bloggers, I trust it more! Not for clothes though, which I always need to try on!

3. If you needed new undergarments, but you saw something that you didn’t really need, but just wanted, which would you buy? To be honest I HAVE....but mostly when I need undergarments….it’s a priority….above all, I can’t stand holey underwear or socks….my daughter it the queen of undergarments….since I told her the story of my mom having to wear my dads underwear during the depression because of a shortage of elastic, she has had an over abundance of underwear to the point of absurdity!

4. What really annoys you about other shoppers? I mostly ignore others when I’m shopping, but if they ran into my legs with a shopping cart, that annoys me. Misbehaved children annoy me to! If parents are nasty to their children, yelling or swearing at them in public. Even when they embarrass them it's very uncomfortable for me!

5. Have you ever got up to the checkout stand and had a ton of stuff in your cart and after they rang everything up you realized you didn’t have your money, check book, debit card, or credit cards? Not that I can remember...sometime my debit hasn't worked, that always sucks!!

6. If you buy something that isn’t necessary or something just for fun do you feel like you have to justify it to yourself or your partner? I used to when I was young and married. I do now because I am on a tight budget and need to concentrate on paying bills over and above all else. But there was a 20 year stint where I could do and buy whatever I wanted....I was still frugal though!

7. Do you hide those unnecessary things for awhile and then later claim you’ve had them for a long time? When I was married I would sometimes hide the bills, but I also saved lots of money at that point in my life. Now I am proud to say just keep it in the bag! When I was young they never inquired whether you wanted the bill in your purse….but now they do!

Russian Coke Can, & I spy Meme

A birthday Dinner for one of the Goddess a week ago!
Janice has a rose in her mouth, not really, it's actually a pair of thong
underwear wrapped as a rose. Funny eh!
This is a Russian Coke can Pepper found at the Toronto Airport!
I was surprised to see it... I actually thought it was from an Asian country!
Just kidding!

I stole this " I Spy" meme from Amber at Believing Soul. It's what you do when you are at a loss for words. It's a filler unfortunately. This post is a modge podge of things. I

I am trying to complete hand painting a white vest that is over ten years old!

I dig vibrant colors and no interruptions when I am creating.

I still want to write a script and have it made into a play.

I had planned on having my house thoroughly cleaned by now,

but it isn’t. I have done art instead…rrrrrrr….

I try not to overtake a conversation…but if the truth be known it’s hard and I always do! My brother has the same problem and is also working on it!

I should really concentrate on eating more consistent little healthy meals instead of two meals a day! Typical fat girl, artist behavior!

I shouldn't have such crappy sleeping patterns, but I do!

Thankfully the hormone thing has subsided…. What a relief I tell ya!

I just want to get a few projects completed.

I don't walk enough…doesn’t help that my knee is botched up right now!

I wish I had more energy, and fiscal abundance and a healed knee!

I won't feel accomplished or satisfied until I have enough funds to donate to parents with ill children in Childrens hospital!

I think many people don’t realize the secret of life until the bulk of it has passed by! Find your passion, and you WILL be happy the rest of your days!

I fear that some little kids I know of might pass on before their time.

I love my friends, my family, creativity and learning!

I like getting email from friends.

I loved ballroom dancing when I was young!

I want to publish a book of poetry, do enough art to have a show.

I require decent health and free time with no demands plaguing my mind so I can complete my list of things to do!

I said to Pepper I can’t stop thinking about the parents with Children in the hospital!

I thought of a few friends I need to call and have a good chat with!

I write to purge and share some aspects of my life as a legacy for my daughter. .

I hate that I can’t be as generous I used to be!

I never get sick of scrabble, art or music, yet most of the time I write in complete silence!

I probably should get my house clean before we have company.

I can't accomplish what I used to, but I am proud when I get something done! Especially if it’s creative…it fills my soul!

I find petty issues insignificant now that I’m older.

I know there is still much I must do in this life! Unfortunately

it may be at a snails pace!

I learn something every single day and I love it!

I remember less and less as I get older!

I bought two new night shirts that I won’t let myself wear until I clean my room. Hey I used to reward myself with donuts….I am going up in the world!

I miss youth and the energy of youth, and perky boobs!!

I spy two pieces of silver jewelry I love! More about that to come

Art from Ang and Meme of Six

My Friend Ang from Altermyworld sent me these beautiful pieces of art. The pictures don't do these pieces justice. I must say I was so impressed by the perfection of depth and detail in these art cards. I plan on framing them for my loft where I spend the majority of my time! They will sit with my family pictures, and adored black velvet children from South Africa.
Thank you Ang my art pales in comparison. This was such a lovely surprise in my hectic life right now. In the next few days things should slow down for a few weeks and I will complete my pieces to send out. I can't wait to do that!
I love how Ang captures the womans figure much more true to form! Ang I do adore your art....I could see a wonderful line of cards done Ang's style. She also sent me a book thong that marks the page. Cute eh? I feel truly blessed thanks again Ang for these lovely gifts from your soul!

The Rules:- Link to the person that tagged you.

Rick at Myrtlebeachramblings passed along this meme. I pretty much thought I had told everything there is to tell about myself. But here are six more things.
Post the rules on your blog.
Share six non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself.
Tag random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs.
Let each random person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their website.

I fall asleep every night with the television on a timer, sometimes I forget to put the timer on and sleep all night with the TV on. I remember my mother would always wake up when you turned off her television!

I love a clean house I just find cleaning so frustratingly redundant. I’d rather be doing almost anything else! Music is a diversion from the tediousness of the nasty chores, so I can be found to blare it while doing the deed. I do exhale when all the work is done though....but it does seem endless.

I have a hand fetish, if I am attracted to a man I can tell immediately whether I could go further, just by looking at his hands.

When the kids aren’t around I eat completely different. I look in the fridge and just eat what isn’t moldy. This brings me to the conclusion that I probably cook more out of obligation rather than desire. However I do like to cook for my friends on occasion!

My home is my sanctuary, I don’t always answer the phone or the door when I’m home. Sometimes I just don’t hear it because the music is too loud, plus I have bad hearing as well. Other times I may have company and feel it's rude to interrupt my time with them. There are also times I just don’t feel like I need to explain myself….I may not answer it because I'm busy with my hands full of paint, or in the bath, or writing a piece I just can’t stop. I am usually not curious who calls or knocks either! I feel they will call back or leave a message. It’s a boundary my mother taught me! Some people feel it’s ignorant or selfish, I call it self preservation.

I have always loved heart shapes, and peace signs. Probably because I value peace and love so much! It’s not surprising my daughter was married valentines day. She remembers childhood valentine’s days being almost as spectacular as a birthday or Christmas. Since shes grown up I'm not as much into celebrations.

Because many people find memes too obligatory I'll send out a request for anyone who has a blog void to do this meme!

Meme of Ten

Lucy at Lulus Petals tagged me with a meme! Here it is!
I'm tagging Janet, Kai, Tammy, Tammy. Mary Only if you want of course!

Ten Signs A book is written by me!

It looks like it’s been run over by a Mac truck

Pages are crumpled up with coffee stains

It’s fallen in the bath at least two times

It’s been edited one hundred times, but is still too wordy!

It’s the brightest colored book on the shelf

There are boogies and farts mentioned throughout, at least ten times

Best read to an Alzheimer patient

The characters will be named after condiments or spices

There will be no moral to the story

It will have too many metaphors, and a million clichés

It will have a least one moron in it, and one illustrating it, ME!

Now that I have pulled your leg...Here are the real 10 signs that I wrote the book!

I've learned my lesson about putting thing out there, even in jest!

The Real Ten Signs A book was Written by Me!!!

It’s illustrated by me

In rhyming format

It’s for children

It’s riddled with play on words

And metaphors

The characters have unique names

There’s a distinctive moral to the story

It’s humorous

Silly

The publishing house will LOVE IT!

Middle Name Meme

Let your heart soar as high as it will.
Refuse to be average.
--A.W. Tozer

My daughter is in no way average! Starting with her name Pepper, yes it is her given name. I figured if it was good enough for Dr. Pepper Schwartz then it was good enough for my child!
I hope to read Dr. Schwartz's latest book called
" Prime" check it out!
Pepper at Pearson airport, gazing out the window at the beautiful sunset, just about to soar home from Toronto Monday night when she saw a barrage of emergency vehicles racing towards a plane on the tarmac! After inquiring about the Kafuffle she was told the plane had a boo boo! Her estimation is that planes DO NOT HAVE BOO BOO'S!
Previous to that she was caught in an elevator that wasn't moving, claustrophobia set in! She was almost speaking in tongues when the door finally opened giving her relief! The passengers on the elevator seemed notably relieved too!
Settling in for the flight home she endured three hours of turbulence similar to a carnival ride during the five hour flight. Pepper was slightly apprehensive when the plane was delayed so they could change the tires. Oh and the boo boo was on another plane where one of the engines broke down! All this after working twelve hour days! My girl is a trouper going it alone to Toronto not knowing a soul there! She managed one quick power shop during the five days, even then she only found a few things for Bryan.

My middle name is Leesa. The prolific poet Deb from Janepoe tagged me with a meme about middle names!

The object of the middle name game is to list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life for each letter of your middle name. (If you don't have a middle name, use the name you would have liked to have had!)

When you are tagged you need to write your own blog post containing your middle name game facts. At the end of your blog post choose one person for each letter of your middle name to tag.
Loquacious embarrassed to say I can be known to be long winded at times. I probably talk too much. I’m sure there are occasions where people wished I had an off switch. I am working on it. On the flip side I can be a wonderful listener, retaining what is shared!

Eccentric I tend not to walk the beaten path; I am attracted to unusual men, unusual gadgets, unusual theories, and unusual names. Kind of like a crow is to shiny bits, I am to eccentricities! I despise the mundane!

Enlightened, I’m a progressive, liberal, free thinking, open minded tolerant person! A direct result of my spiritual quest and fairly accurate intuition!

S
age I'm told I'm sage, yet rarely feel that way! Friends constantly remind me that I should have been a counselor! People regularly seek me out for advice or direction when feeling emotionally lost.I help where I can.

Adaptable fitting in with many types of personalities and life situations! I’m fairly flexible when it comes to adapting!

Passing on the meme to
