In March my blog turned five years old and in April
my HANDSOME baby brother turned 50!
For a funny story about him click the photo below!
In May I turned 55,
June I completed a guitar " Covenant of Color"
to be auctioned for Childrens Hospital Music program
In July and August I worked on these four chairs,
which weren't a quick process!
September I opted to paint my wood kitchen table rather than
buying a new rectangle black one like I originally planned!
This old side table was my test piece, it was originally going
look more whimsical, but I was convinced not to make our home
look like " The Cat in the Hat House"
October I conservatively painted my oak rocking chair silver!
November I completed a large whimsical canvas that I have no home for yet!
December was spent preparing for Christmas, doing art, visiting with family and friends! Instead of exchanging gifts this year we donated two huge boxes of sundries that daughter collected all year from Coupon clipping.

My New word for 2012 will be Nourish! Body, mind, and creativity!
2012 will be dedicated to finishing off projects, gathering my art and poetry to focus on something marketable, entering some poetry contests, finding a way to make my bedroom more loveable and completing another Art Guitar! I am dreaming of big things in the New Year! How about you?
Thank goodness for the early morning flush that woke me today! Not a commode flush, a red faced, hot all over, blatant reminder, “YOUR OLD” flush!!! I arose earlier than normal to finish off a digital piece of art for my daughters Starbucks cup….
It's Peppers Twenty Fourth Birthday today another nasty reminder I'm getting up there! Bryan and I are giving her money towards these two pair of boots purchased last week!
The Birthday girl and I started the day with wonderful giggle over my bad art!!! I should have taken a clue when it mysteriously went missing yesterday while I was working on it!!! I finally assembled the reject into the mug, and I hated it!!! Wonder of wonders so did she! We hugged and laughed so hard!!! It’s not unusual for us to like and dislike the same things! All the Giggling was well worth the blunder of bad frenetic art!!! If someone finds my creative pieces unappealing, I never take it personally, because I'm so fussy about what I like! Each to their own I always say! Art is so personal....just like perfume, and underwear!
I diligently put together something tailored more to Peppers personality! Two hours later and a couple more attempts, (like the one above) she walked out the door very satisfied with her new Birthday mug! Phew I almost didn’t make it! I was pleased that it even matched her outfit! Below is the print I made, I'll post the cup in it's entirety when she arrives home later tonight!
Today was my Brothers birthday, my computer was so slow that I'm late posting. However we had a wonderful dinner out with family to celebrate! His son laughed so hard when he saw the cartoon painting I did of him. Here is the card and character I am developing centered around his quirky personality. Oh yes oddness is in the genes. Each time we're together there are even more antics that transpire into giggling fits!
This is also a special day for my friend Violette who's first book Journal Bliss is launched today! A culmination of her love of art journaling while inspiring others to find their own Bliss! Violette is as vibrant as the color she amasses on the page. She's also fully responsible for requisitioning my dormant creative spirit five years ago!
Check out Violette's blog for the list of those on her blog tour! I'll be included in the blog tour come June first. I can never really express how grateful I am to Violette for encouraging me to unleash my inner goddess, and find my true artist within! Congratulations on putting your precious spirit on paper, best wishes for a successful run!
My dad at his retirement party. Fifteen months later the following photo was taken.
It would be my dads 89th birthday today! This was one of two times he ever held his grand daughter. She was only two weeks old when he first met Pepper. So frail and weak he could only hold her for a very short time. He died four weeks later. I adored my dad, he really understood me. Knowing when I was unhappy, he always attempted to fix my problems. He was the one to replace the white meat on my plate with dark, during a family turkey dinner, because he saw me acting pensive about choking on the dry meat. He rescued me when my mom left me cry too long. He educated me about sex, to protect me from over zealous boys. He roller skated with me, taught me how to hit a baseball, and a golf ball. He once slapped a neighbor hood male bully in retaliation to a slap the boy gave me. He drove me to high school every morning, was a great listener, and a sage father.
Dad insisted that my brother and I repect and love each other. He dissuaded any quarreling. It was dad’s mantra, to repeat and remind us, that he was an older parent, would one day die, leaving us to take care of each other. He was my best relationship as a child.
The black and white photo is of us playing cards while camping in Penticton, I was five. I miss you dad. I wish he could have seen my relationship with Pepper. He would have been proud. Thankfully she married someone as gentle spirited as him!
Six years old This little girl was born on my fathers last birthday; when he was sixty-six.

Dream Goddess's daughter turns 23 years old today! I remember the moment my friend told me she was pregnant. We were walking out the door of our place of employment, on our way to lunch. She revealed she was three months along, I was so thrilled, I started to cry. Which was odd for me because I didn't cry easily.
One of the other girls we worked with was already pregnant. I was a great believer things come in threes. When I innocently wondered aloud who would be next, our boss looked at me without hesitation and said "I guess it's you!" With eyes bulging, I quipped something to the affect of "bite your tongue, I DON'T THINK SO!!!" very adamantly. It was the middle of May.I'd just bought a brand new house, we were moving on July 15th, 1985. I was way too busy to be pregnant.
Little did I know I was with child at that moment, possibly a couple of days pregnant when I heard Dream Goddess’s great news. Something was amiss according to my dog, who for the moment let no one near me without showing his teeth. The doctor confirmed my suspicion.
Our girls are exactly three months, to the day apart. It wasn't planned that way; I planned to get pregnant the following September, three months after we were settled in our new place. Apparently it happened the day we signed the papers for our new house. We ate lunch together most days, talked baby stuff. When they were born we did things together with our girls. At times the girls would purposely dress alike so people would think they were sisters. I remember one particular time we were at a trade show of some kind and they were wearing overalls when people asked them if they were twins. They were thrilled. As you can see they look nothing alike. They loved the attention at the time.
Teddy Bear Picnic
As they grew up, they grew apart. Each choosing different paths they are both strong women, productive adults with big hearts!Happy Birthday Whitney! I cropped these photos for you! Hope you enjoy them!
My favorite photo of the two of them. Tired out from Whitney's birthday party
